This was our 1st time and I called to book as we were in the area and wanted to make sure there was availability. The Lady was very helpful and I asked about Parking which depends on the time of day so allow extra time after 6pm can park for free on the main road, Nothing was too much trouble excellent service Great Selection of food and Very Reasonable prices Very good portions and came out Hot No Complaints from our table Only 1 small niggle the very large table behind us was very Vocal but would definitely Visit again when next in the area...

We stopped for lunch on Ecclesall road at Uncle Sams burger house,where I had eaten many years before.<br/><br/>the place is just as good as it always was ,and I was glad to see the train going round on the tracks above our heads still.<br/><br/>The burger with white cheese (a closely guarded secret apparently)is world class and delicious.The relish tray was left on our table and we enjoyed the busy bustle of the place.<br/><br/>Great service and good value .Enjoyed it immensely.

Bad take a way. Been going here for 30 years, although the quality has declined gradually, it has always been worth another visit. decided to order a take a way as the wife wasnt too well. Nothing difficult, a couple of burgers, cheese sauce and chips. My mouth was watering driving home, at the antisipation of a meaty BBQ'd burger, nicely seared on the grill, well i needn't have bothered. On first inspection, the burgers were a pinky colour, they resembled a dog chew and were dished in the middle. the meat was very finely ground and rubbery, more like sausage meat, and didnt taste of any meat i have ever had, i really dont know what it was, the chips were like wet slugs, probably cause they were wrapped in tin foil, not ideal. Needless to say the dog is having them for her tea tonight. Sorry Uncle Sam, but we wont be coming back, EVER.

Dislike. I used to go a couple of years ago, after having terrible customer service I decided not to go again. However with having a relatives birthday party there recently, I decided to go in with an open mind. The staff struggled with a table of 10, service was slow and wrong orders were sent out. I went for the burrito which was presented poorly and the chilli was bland, however it was considerably better than my partners dinosaur ribs which were incredibly dry and tasteless. I've heard that the burgers are ok, but unfortunately not many other positives other than a novelty train.

I've been visiting Uncle Sams since I was in a High-chair and a bib, over 20 years ago and I don't recall being dissatisfied once! the food is the usual american diner fayre. The burgers are flamegrilled and hefty, the cheeseburgers come with a cheese sauce that's like nothing I've had anywhere else (it might not be to everyones taste but I love it!). I definitely recommend a 'Nachos supreme' (to share) for a starter - fresh tortilla nachos (not dorito-type rubbish you get elsewhere) loaded with chilli con carne, sour cream, guacamole, jalepenos and melted cheese. The decor holds nostalgia for me, though may be considered dated/cluttered to others. Tables can't be booked in advance so its a case of waiting in the bar when busy, which it often is, but I think its worth the wait!
