Steak and ale pie hit the spot on a Sunday afternoon .Quick and easy so we could get back to shopping.
Recommend Toad in the Hole. Sausages red hot, gravy red hot...lovely. Vegetables could have been hotter. Portion was very nice...man size. Quality wasn't bad for our first time visit. Vegetables let it down by one star. One to definitely revisit in the future. Lady behind the counter was friendly.
Wife couldn't finish so I had to adopt the motto "Leave no Yorkie behind!...."

OMG!!!! Where do I start?
Right, here goes....
I am the most awkward and picky person when it comes to food. I mean, I eat cheese and onion crisps, but I won't eat onions. I also love strawberry 🍓 milkshake, but I won't put a strawberry in my mouth.
You get the idea.
While Christmas shopping in Meadowhall, Sheffield, yesterday, we ended up in the Food Quarter looking for lunch.
We seen Harpers British Classics selling good ol' English food and my wife and I made a beeline for the counter.
The choice was amazing. The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection. Inexpensive with a choice of veg, pies, potatoes, etc...
My wife is also a tad picky (not as bad as me), but both she and I absolutely cleared our plates.
Top notch grub, English style,without top notch prices.

All the food is pre-cooked and on show right behind glass panels, so you can see what you're buying.
We paid around £15 for pie, peas, yorkshire pud, gravy, mash/chips (x2) and it was heavenly. Served piping hot.

I was enjoying my meal so much.
Good value for money. Not bad and a nice change from the fast food, the pies are where it's at and there filled to the top. So you really get your moneys worth.
Staff are always super friendly and chatty.
Reminds me of school meals, not great but not terrible. Breakfast is okay as Meadowhall doesn't have much to offer for breakfast.
Somehow they manage to ruin roast potatoes and make them taste like synthetic!?!

Lovely food. Yorkshire puds can get a bit tough if they've been out a while but otherwise 10/10 lovely food and pleasant staff.
Had a decent meal here tonight. It's not gourmet style but it's better than McDonald's, KFC or Nandos. Sausage and mash mmm was decent.
Love the staff here, regularly go here, polite always know what food we come for and appreciate us very much!
