Hands down the best chippy going. Not a massive fish and chip fan usually but these guys serve up a delicious chippy dinner

To average 4.8 on Google is extremely difficult. These guys well deserve it. A proper traditional fish shop of the highest consistent quality. It is clear this place is not run for the benefits of high profits, but for the pride of supplying the very best skilled cooking of fish and chips. There are few supreme masters of fish and chips but you will find them here.

One of the few non-commercialised chippies left - they know how to fry the perfect portion...
Very reasonable prices - typical Scottish fairness !
Also I may never find out why these generous folk from the far North (!) gave me TWO pieces of cod - 1 slightly more cooked than the other, which was done to half a turn.
If my ancestors weren't from Yorkshire I might consider going back to pay for it.
Cash only - not too much of an issue - it's nice to see a bit of proper royalty now and again.
In all seriousness, if you ever wonder why fish & chips tasted so much better in the 1980's then take a trip down Half Moon Street, Sherborne for dinner and remind yourself !

Great fish and chips. Don't be put off by the decor or outside appearance. This is proper old school fish and chips, some of the best you will find away from the coast and always first stop on a trip to Sherborne!
