Checked out the reviews for fish & chips and Dave’s was highly rated. There were 5 of us and we all really enjoyed the fish and chips. Food cooked fresh and it was worth the little wait and its tastes great. Good valve for money and helpful staff. The dog love the leftovers.

Tip. The takeaway is the left door. The restaurant is the right. They are the same business but it's easy to miss the restaurant.

Lovely food. My partner had the Haddock and chips, and I had the battered burgers (I know supper healthy). Crispy batter, amazing chips, proper mushy peas, and a lovely pot of tea to top it off. Good value for money. We will be back soon.
Updated review another year on , sat in and had 4 adult meal deals and 1 child meal deal at £55 , the food and service was excellent , the restaurant was nearly at capacity and we turned up just before closing time with a big double pram , but were speedily seated and served , top quality 👍👍
Updated review , ate in today and had Daves Special for £10.30 , consisting of Haddock , Chips , Beans , Bread & Butter , Coffee .
The chips looked a little undercooked and the fish seemed to be wet under the batter , tasted ok , but didnt seem upto the usual high standard when i have takeaway . The service was good and speedy .
Very good quality fish and chips , haddock and chips £7 , always quick service , the only negative thing I can say is that they don't have a card payment , so its cash only , but plenty of cash machines on the high street 👍👍👍
Really good fish and chips. Can eat in or take out, they have a variety of fish (I prefer cod) cooked spot on and the staff are really friendly. Highly recommended.
It's not an obvious spot to visit for fish and chips as it's tucked away off the high street but this is definitely worth visiting. All the fish and chips are fried in beef dripping so the chips are crispy and tasty and the fish batter is amazing. They are also really accommodating, making up a smaller portion for us for lunch. Prices are cheap as, well, chips. The only potential downsides are that they only accept cash and the ambience is 1970s but I liked that. Finally, they're so close to the front that you can have your fish and chips by the sea.
After a bracing, breezy walk over Beeston Bump we stopped here for a fish and chip lunch.
After a few minutes wait we had a table in the restaurant although there is the usual fish and chip takeaway option here too.
The food was served very quickly and all freshly cooked and piping hot and plenty of it!
One adults fish and chips, two adult sausage and chips which were all very substantial portions plus a seniors meal which was amazing value as included bread and butter and a pot of tea. All this plus drinks came to a very reasonable £40.
The restaurant was busy and seemed to be popular with locals and tourists alike. The person who served us was friendly and efficient. We've been here before and would certainly return.

Brilliant little place. Can eat inside for almost same price as takeaway. Staff so friendly with everyone and very helpful. Fish was BIG and so tasty. Not on the main road so look for it. Well worth the slight effort.
Such great service from the lady yesterday at around 5pm. We were feeding our baby when the food came, she popped over and said she could take the food away and keep it warm for us. She was so attentive and kind. Food was fantastic. Can't wait to go again!
Tucked down a side street and off the main road it's easy to miss Daves Fish Bar. If you're wanting fish and chips in the town, then this is the place. It's clean, super tasty and better value than some of the others, plus you can sit outside! Portion of chips for £2.20. Get in!
