*Update* Sadly, this business is now closed, and currently For Sale / To Let. Fantastic food, value & experience! I've been here several times now, and have to say, hands down, IMHO they have the best carvery / roast in town, and I've tried a few. There's a choice of meats (If it's on, beautiful Pork with crackling!) and a great selection of vegetables, lovely 'large' crispy roast potatoes, stuffing balls, and side dishes (recommend trying the leek & blue cheese) and OMG proper Yorkshire puddings ..They're huge! The hardest thing is fitting it all on the plate. That's the food, now for the place itself... The Elysium has had a makeover in recent years, and has a modern grey/silver glitzy theme. Internally it's very clean, and you'll feel welcomed & very safe, the tables are well spaced apart, and they have sanitiser and gloves for each person to wear whilst selecting their food, so no direct contact with the utensils. Having excellent hygiene standards and procedures in place like this is very re-assuring given the continuing Covid situation. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and really do add to the whole dining experience. It's also nice to see a place keeping the same food quality & standards outside of the main holiday season for the locals like us to support & enjoy ...not all do! We love a good roast / carvery, and this was also excellent value, with our most recent visit being on their 2 for £15 night, but we'll have to try one of their buffet nights next!

Visited here for Sunday carvery dinner. All I can say is WOW! The best I have ever had… and I’ve tried quite a few. The food is amazing. All freshly home cooked. They had a selection of 5 meats to choose from and the veggies were perfectly cooked and had the following to choose from: Roasted carrots, the best cauliflower cheese, roasted parsnips, leeks in a sauce (think it may have been cheese) cabbage, carrot & swede mash, carrots and Brussels with bacon. The staff are super friendly and the owner himself takes the time greet everyone. Mike was such a lovely chap and couldn’t do enough for you. Due to it being a large amount of us we had the pleasure of sitting in the thrown room and it was gorgeous. The price of the carvery is very affordable too. Was pleasantly surprised. I 1000% recommend. If you haven’t yet been you must try their food. You won’t regret it.

We held a surprise 70th birthday meal here for my mum in May . I could not fault the venue or staff , the staff were very accommodating and always on hand to help if needed , I asked for one of the throwns to be put into the area where we had the meal which they were happy to do also the tables were put out so we could get everyone in safely as there were 45 of us , we were able to decorate the room how we wanted it , were allowed in early to decorate which was very useful as meal was at 6 . The food was lovely and plentiful , my daughter is a fussy eater but they catered for her needs , the venue was clean and tidy . We had a lovely time and would recommend it 😊

The dirty burger is the "best I've ever had" described by my dad. He loves a burger. The 12oz Steak was "very nice" as described by my mum. The Salmon was lovely. The only observation to criticise is my Salmon looked lost on the plate it was served on.

The restaurant is a great place for families to eat Fridays are buffet night also on Wednesdays and a carvery on sundays. The food is excellent nicely cooked and presented .They pay allot of attention to hygiene making sure customers sanitise their hands before collecting your plate and choosing from the buffet. You can go to the buffet as many times as you like and the price is very reasonable at £12.95 for an adult and £6.95 for children. I would highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.

Really impressed, big portions but also tastes really good the goose fat chips are amazing. Meals are around 9 to 22 pounds which is a bargain for the quality of food and service. Staff are polite, clean and helpful. Toilets are clean and look smart, drinks are typical pub prices, there is a car park. Definitely call back next holiday.

Lovely staff , beautiful decore. Amazing fresh produce beautifully cooked and presented. Ample portions and reasonably priced. Highly recomended, thank you ! What can I say! Don't know how they do it, but the Sunday carvery we had to day seemed even better than last weeks. If that is possible. The turkey was so tender and moist, real roast potatoes and parsnips ,cooked like my mum used to make. The vegetables are cooked to perfection, and the gravy is to die for. We cannot praise the Elysium enough.
