We’ve just finished a week staying in the huge Dutch Barge in Snape Maltings. We had a few beers on the odd occasion here during the week. Of course 😉. Just had a lovely meal here on our last night wonderful food , good beer and decent Malbec. Staff rushed off their feet because it was far busier than usual on a Sunday night (fantastic weather perhaps?), but despite this, the service was excellent, and even the Chef had time for a friendly chat with us after it quietened down a bit. Can’t fault the place. A most pleasant evening.

We were very lucky to get a table at the end of a busy lunch service. The restaurant was extremely busy on our arrival, this had zero impact on the service and quality of the food. This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. Congratulations to the team!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Visiting my sister and brother in law who live nearby we initially went in for drinks then decided to eat. the lamb steak with couscous was delicious, my wife had the cod in breadcrumbs, my sister had the burger and her husband the sausage and mash. Good heart fare well done at a reasonable price. Given that we both had a couple of drinks the bill was just £154 including service which wasn't bad. Would definitely return when next I the area.

I was in Snape with a group of friends after spending a day out at sea. Had five super tasty meals, great beers and wines, can highly recommend. Thank you to Harry and Dwayne for their lovely service and chat.

Nestled in the grounds of Snape Maltings, The Plough and Sail is a beacon of authentic British pub culture, offering a delightful haven for locals and visitors alike. From its warm, welcoming atmosphere to its exceptional service and amazing food, this venue has everything you could desire in a traditional pub experience.
The place has a cool mix of old-fashioned charm and modern style, with local art on the walls and comfy seats to settle into.
What's really special about this place is the friendly vibe. Wether you're looking for a formal sit down meal or a casual meet-up, the Plough and Sail doesn't disappoint.
It's the perfect place to kick back and relax at Snape Maltings.

Popped in for just a drink after shopping in Snape Maltings shopping mall.
Service was excellent and displayed a large range of drinks.
The decor is somewhat severe and out dated now as dark grey/blue walls quickly look cold and unwelcoming, hiding a multitude of dark areas that look unkempt. Probably in subdued lighting at night you can get away with this! But, daytime NO..

A lovely pub/restaurant, they were very busy but still remained friendly and attentive. Food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

We were staying locally and had dinner here twice, both times the food was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The beefburger and the fish and chips were particularly appreciated. It is a child friendly pub and welcomes dogs too, there's plenty of seating inside and out, though the outside is on a relatively busy road for rural Suffolk. There are 2 entrances one at the front and another at the rear of the building. We were delighted with our experience both times.

Perfectly cooked tuna, very very welcoming staff. They open before 6pm for drinks, kitchen opens at 6.
Dog friendly place with biscuits for them.
Surrounding area is very interesting to discover.

Eat inside or enjoy the beer garden outside. OK, it's right next to the road, but who cares when the sun is shining or on a summer's evening when the traffic is light. Good choice of beers...I would recommend The Farrier.
