My wife and I visited here for afternoon lunch. A beautiful place situated in fields, a golf course and a lake. There is a large carpark with ample parking. A young lad served us who was polite and friendly. From the menu for starters we had Soup of the Day which was Carrots and Coriander served with a Bun and butter. Our main course was Brazen Lamb Shank and Vegetarian dish of the week. The portions are quite filling but for dessert I enjoyed a Apple pie with cream and my wife Profiteroles with chocolate sauce and cream. After our lunch we took a stroll around the lake. There is fishing as there were several anglers sat around the lake. A nice afternoon which we recommend to everyone and we will come again. They do have live singers in the Summer months. This is something else we will look forward to.

This is one of the best places to spend a day with the family. One can enjoy the drinks, delicious food, golf, walk around the lake or sir on the bench and chat. Lovely place.

Had a pre paid family meal a cavary 40 of us young and old. Service was very good. Special food requirements we'll catered for. Not a big choice of veg but everyone was happy Drinks were reasonably priced. Nice surroundings inside and out. We would go back, might have a meal and band night as advertised.

It is a very pleasant combination between a Golf Club, restaurant and fishing lake. Despite of the airplanes, passing every 3 to 5 minutes and trains around 10 minutes, it is not a noise place. The restaurant is clean, good food and service. You can enjoy your beer watching a golf game or somebody fishing. During my visit, for about 2 hours, I've seen at least 5 good fish captures, so the lake will satisfy the needs of any fisherman. Still for such a beautiful place they can improve the cleaning condition in the toilets. The place has a good parking place and access by car direct on the lake side. If you want to go fishing. The price for a day is 8 GBP. You have the option to stay even over night on the lake, but not advisable because of mosquito. Overall, I can recommend it as one of the best places in this area, to enjoy a day with your family.

I visited West Midlands Golf Club, for an inter club seniors golf match. After the game we ate in The Lake at Barston Restaurant. We were served a mixed grill and the food was very good. The service was good. There is parking and easy accessibility for anyone with a disability.

We have been to two tribute nights and on both occasions the food, entertainment and service has been absolutely superb. The location is so beautiful. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. A***** on everything. We will definitely be visiting again

Lovely stroll around the lake followed by a convivial stop at the clubhouse for some tea and muffins sat outside with wonderful views over the 18th and the lake. An added benefit is to see some skilled fishermen at work.

Situated at West Midlands Golf Club overlooking Barston Lake, its just off the Kenilworth Road near to Balsall Common and Knowle. It also has a hotel for those luxury stays. Entering the car park, there's plenty of space and nice views of the golf course and surrounding as you approach. Its a peaceful countryside venue if you want to get away from the usual urban surroundings. This venue was offering 50% off main meals on Octobers #eotho. As you enter, the first thing you see straight away is how modern and upmarket the interior is with its chandelier lighting and colourful mood lighting. All the tables in the restaurant over look the lake which sets the mood accordingly. Ambient relaxed background music was playing. Hand sanitiser was avaliable and test and trace was in operation. All staff were wearing PPE. I was greeted promptly at the entrance and shown to a table. Tbe tables are large in size and have comfortable wooden chairs. The menu goes back to basics and gets straight to the point. No long descriptions or fancy words. A good selection of options werr available. A mobile app is also avaliable called 'Elite Live' for those customers who wanted to use this to order. I've gone for the following today; --- Starter - Crispy Chicken Wings with bbq dip and salad A classic 🥰 You get 4 of these in a portion. I didn't expect them to be so large when it came to me. It was a decent sized portion and the salad was more than your boring lettuce and cucumber; having some carrot and tomato thrown in for good measure. They were as expected very crispy and had some meat on the bone to them. It was fine. No issues as such really. I knew what I was getting and it came as is. Main - Cheeseburger (Monterey Jack Cheese) with 2 onion rings and chips First time I've seen the salad separate to the burger served. The burgers served on a brioche bun which was flat and wider than most of the traditional taller ones. The coleslaw was a nice addition which was not mentioned on the menu. The burger itself was pipping hot and had been evenly grilled. The flavour was fine. The brioche bun was personally not to my liking as I prefer the taller ones and I felt it was only slightly overdone but it was not a major issue. The chips were also piping hot and had a crispy firm texture to them. It was a good main meal but nothing special that would shout out. Again I point out that I got what I expected on the menu and as such was satisfied. Dessert - Hot Apple Pie with custard An absolute throwback to my younger youth. I used to have this at school all the time (albeit with pink custard). It could have been warmer as the custard was a little colder in parts. The apple pie was very sweet and had plenty of apple inside it. The custard could have been thicker as it was quite runny. It was fine for me but again nothing out of the ordinary and better than a leading pub chains equivalent. --- This overall cost for this today was £13.00 for 3 courses and a drink. Excellent value! Service was warm and friendly. I observed the chef having interaction with their customers which was a lovely thing to see. It was also nice to see the cutlery come in its own sleeve. I noted that free WiFi was also available and the toilets were clean and functional (interior more like something out of the early 2000s). 8/10 as everything was fine but nothing special that stood out. Would recommend and return to this venue today 😇
