I had my daughter’s Aqiqah here in the upstairs section yesterday and everything from the food to the service by the staff was a 1000/10! Super attentive, quick and accommodating and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about how everything was so delicious, from the main course to desserts and teas and I also wanted them to cut the cake and serve it to people which they did it super quickly too as I was busy with the baby. Thank you for a memorable day!

Watan - A Gem of a Family Restaurant!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Watan, and it was a fantastic experience. Here's why I highly recommend this restaurant:
🍽️ Variety Galore: Watan offers an extensive menu of Indian and Pakistani dishes, with delectable options like biriyani and kabab.
👌 Food Quality: The food quality is nothing short of awesome. Every dish I tried was a delightful burst of flavors.
⏱️ Swift Service: Waiting for your order is a breeze; they serve within 7 to 10 minutes, which is remarkable.
🏨 Hospitable Ambiance: The restaurant is incredibly clean and well-maintained. The neat surroundings enhance the dining experience.
👫 Stellar Staff: Special shout-out to Usman Vai and Hina Safi, who made the visit memorable. Their polite and entertaining demeanor added a personal touch to our dining experience.
🔍 Unique Feature: The glass-door kitchen is a fascinating highlight, allowing you to see the magic happening in the kitchen.
Overall, Watan is a top-notch family restaurant, perfect for any occasion. Don't miss the chance to savor exceptional food, experience warm hospitality, and enjoy the mesmerizing glass-door kitchen. You won't be disappointed!

Visited Watan with my family and the food was tasty and perfectly spiced. My favourites were the lamb mantu, the mixed cut kebabs and also the Karahis. Servers were also very friendly and I would definitely revisit and recommend!

We went to Watan for my sister's birthday, a Friday evening so it would have more people and be busier than usual. I will try to keep this review short and concise and truly providing my experience. It's definitely a five star for me, purely because of the taste of the food.
We had about 15 adults with 4 under 6s with us. The kids were well fed, the adults had more than enough food for the evening, very satisfying. We ordered a few platters, some starters and a few extra curry dishes. Everything tasted nice, the aroma and spice were great, not too extravagant. I loved the presentation of the food, the smell, the juicy bites of chicken tenders and kebabs.
See my photos for more.
The portions and size of the dishes were sufficient, honestly my brother said let's come again with less people, when it's less busy if that can happen and let's really try to get the best out of Watan.
The highlight for me was the platter with rice and meat soaking onto the large bread and then dipping it into curry and all those tender meat bites.
5*, will be back - God Willing.

The best Afghani restaurant! The service was excellent, especially for how busy it was, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was amazing; we ordered the grill platter and a chicken and lamb curry, and it was all so flavourful and tender. The mocktails were nice and I would say the price was very reasonable. I would most definitely recommend this place and will come back.

Awesome food, no other word. Its probably the best Indian food i have had in Europe. The mix platter comes sizzling hot and has great options for someone who can’t decide what to order as everything in the menu sounds delicious. The naan is heavy and yum as well. The karahis are also full of flavour. The Cherry on top is the mango lassi. Don’t think just order the jug full of it.

We had lamb shank pilau, chicken tikka biriayani and malai chicken tikka. Pilau was so good portion more than enough for 2 people. The lamb was so succulent. Also the biriyani was yum as always and we took takeout for biriyani. Then mail was yummy. But what I like to mention is the place and how it is kept . Unlike other restaurants in iLford and Eastman which just sell desi food and no cleanliness , this place is so convenient especially when u have a kid around you and hygiene is important. Furnitures were clean and I like to mention that because I just walked out of a restaurant near by this which had bigger nameboard and chair was modern but so dirty. We will visit again and again. Staff were also good and welcoming

Watan was definitely worth the hour and half drive from Cambridgeshire. We ordered the Lahori Mix Grill which was plentiful and very delicious, I am a huge fan of Lamb Chops and I try Lamb Chops every restaurant I go to so I have this on good authority that these lamb Chops have gone to the top of the list for me. They were extremely tender, juicy and perfectly spiced, the chicken tenders were also extremely delicious and juicy. We also ordered the Chapli Kebab which reminded us of the authentic kebabs of the authentic restaurants in Pakistan. After all this we had Charsi Lamb Karahi, that was a hit and miss for 3 of us, 2 of us loved the sauce but found the extra bones in the Karahi a bit distasteful and the 3rd person in the group just didn't like it. For me Karahi was 3/5. Service was good and all the staff were very good even though the place was packed and they were running everywhere trying to help the customers. Price wise it was a little bit on the expensive side but I guess these London prices so can't complain. All in all a worthwhile experience and will definitely visit again to try the other dishes.
