Went there for lunch today with my wife. Had vegetarian and a masala dosa. Most delicious food like home cooking and big portion enough for two people. Very polite staff. will recommend and go again next time when I visit Southall.
First time in London, we found this place by chance and we really appreciated: good food, nice and comfortable atmosphere, and very kind staff. I will recommend to my friends and I’ll come back for sure in my next London visit.
I tried Chole Bhature and Kulcha with Chole, both were great !! Thanks 😊
Overall - Very good Indian restaurant.
Food was really nice, not too spicy (Which is a common "problem" in some Indian restaurants). The feeling is that it is a common Indian food, but one with a "twist", or a personal touch of the Chef.
For Vegans like myself, was a very east task to find dining options. A Big starter and main dish will be more than enough.Delicious!
The staff were polite and very helpful.
This is one of the best meals I've had during many travels, and I would highly recommend this restaurant. For the quality and taste, this was an absolute bargain
The food at moti Mahal is great. I've never eaten in but home delivered food has been very good and meets the requirements.
The only downside is that the portion of food has gone down after the management change.
Great indian cuisine with authentic indian spices.
Good place to eat when with the family. Service and seating could be better as the employees are quite slow and seating is limited.
the butter chicken is splendid but the rest of the food was average.
After travelling quite a bit and having that urge to eat anything and everything after entering moti mahal I was really satisfied.
It's food taste is outstanding and for the amount it doesn't effect my pockets but a great day for my taste buds.
Only the place should have been more spacious.
Back to the "Pind" (Village in Punjabi).. A journey to Southall literally feels like I am heading back to the Pind. Gave the hip/hop, Dub-step and Rock n Roll a bit of rest and played some of my favourite bhangra/bollywood chart toppers on the iPod as I took that train from Paddington.
Moti Mahal, the name reminiscent of the Major New Delhi based Franchise but I don't believe this restaurant has anything to do with it. From the outside it looks like the most typical sweet/savoury shops you will see all across northern India. A guy on the front door with a huge "Karahi" (Typical Indian pot for frying) making fresh Jalebis (O Thou kind Lord! Thou hast created food) DELICIOUS !! The typical glass display with the colourful sweets and Samosas and Pakoras to lure you.
Seating is nothing lavish but I assume thats not what you were looking for when you enter this place. We ordered Paneer stuffed Mirchi Pakoras - which were decent ( Suggestion : a little less oil on the surface couldn't hurt), Hara bhara kebabs were quite good too and so was aaloo tikki Chat. We also ordered Chana Bhatura (Chickpea with Soft bread), I have to say; the Bhaturas were just perfect. Chana however, were slightly undercooked.
We got about 250 Gms (Should've known its too less) Jalebis packed for home which were very very authentic, crispy, sweet, delicious and were finished before I could even begin cherish them. 3 of us were quite happy and full for just £ 12.
p.s : Kulfi Faluda is OFF THE CHARTS
Went today and had samosas for starters which were spicy and average, the limca a was nice and refreshing. Paranthas were authentic and very tasty, yogurt and mixed pickle served and plentiful. The mango lassi was one of the best I have ever had amazing although the jug was pricey.
Good place to have some veg o non veg curry some chat and sweeti tryed lamb curry really nice ...chole culche too less portions of chole papad was bit wet ask lime for 2 time but one one bought it to us water on request must try the ras malai anyway is a good place to get a nice food
Visited during peak hours on a rainy Diwali day. So impressed by the Samosa chaat, the staff is also very nice.
Down points for the over-usage of yoghurt on everything and for hygiene that felt a bit lacking. But it’s understandable, given how busy it was, literally no space to walk downstairs. Decent pricing, good location, nice vibes upstairs and very nice Indian decoration. definitely worth a visit.
Enjoyed the paneer tikka and paneer samosas and tea! Pricing was also great
Loved this place! Reminded me of my time in India. Staff were so friendly and food was amazing. The non veg thali was so delicious and filling. Definitely coming back here
Last year Moti Mahal was falling apart but this time when I walked in after a year I have to say they've done absolutely amazing. Refurbished the whole restaurant, changed the menu and even have Soya chicken!
Only concern is, I'm not sure what happens behind the doors so I cannot say anything about the hygiene level.
When we were seated the table wasn't even made and we had to constantly call for someone for assistance.
Overall food was lovely and will be coming back hoping better service delivered.
Went in for some masala tea and hot snacks on a rainy day. Friendly staff. Clean place. Decent prices. Food came quick and was tasty. Masala tea was OK (average). Would pop by again if in the area.
We tried the dahi puri, punjabi samosa chaat and chai. Everything was so delicious. I definitely recommend eating here to desi food lovers☺️
Nice, clean establishment with an abundance of menu options. First time ever I saw someone offer Kerala (bitter ghourd) on the menu. The treat is to have the jalebi and pakode fresh from the hot oil! Even when there is some sitting there, they always cook a fresh batch which was really nice to see. The host was very polite and mindful of the children too. Would definitely come back again and again.
Moti Mahal is a very good shout for family dinners, friends and small gatherings. The food is really nice especially the Soya Sizzler, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Kebab Rolls and Falooda Ice cream, although everything else is amazing too. There are two floors and both are kept clean and tidy. Staff are very informative and always their when you need help. One thing I would say is that sometimes they forget to give you the basics such as tissue and chutneys but maybe due to a lot of customers, it can be a minor issue. I would recommend to eat here if you haven't already.
