We stopped here for lunch after a recommendation from a friend, the area was lovely, easy parking and lots of horses freely roaming for the grandchildren to enjoy.
We had the roast beef and chicken sandwiches with fries , these were superb....the cut of the beef was quite thick and cooked pink which we loved!
The staff were very accommodating, polite and friendly, had a lovely couple of hours here.
The service was excellent (every staff we met), so were the meals (delicious and sufficient portion). The location and the size of car park might be a bit tricky for people, especially on a raining day. The settings in and out are both well designed, very relaxing and comfy feel, put you at ease as soon as you enter. Will definitely visit again.
We felt welcome from the moment we entered for lunch.
Very traditional and rustic pub and has a proper country feel about it.
There is a great selection of beers and the sandwiches were delicious.
The pies looked incredible and will have those next time we stop in!
Very Welcoming and friendly staff, closed conservatory area for a birthday celebration.
Good food. Dog friendly
Rooms well equipped and clean.
Parking is limited but would definitely go back.
The pub is very nice. A massive garden out the back with lots of seating. Food was good but not outstanding and the beer selection was average. I had ham egg and chips...chips were good, ham was OK, eggs looked to be of good quality but slightly overcooked for my liking...and way too many peas! My friends both had chicken burgers and they both said they were nice, well cooked chicken breast. They had skin on fries with their burgers, my chips were much nicer.
The service was very good and friendly.
Overall I would go again.

My wife and I were down in the snug area. We were the only ones in there which was nice. There was some music playing in the whole inn but it was subdued. So one could have a conversation without resorting to bellowing.
As expected the meal was brilliant.
For a starter I went for the Breaded cream cheese filled Jalapenos. For a main a delicious Black Bean and Sweet Potato chilli with rice, guacamole and nachos. For that extra zing a small dish of freshly chopped chillies. Yum!
Exceptionally clean bathroom! Great service, attentive staff. Lovely sunroom in the back and outdoor garden seating. The presentation of the food was great, we had the sea bass, new forest chicken sandwich and steak and ale pie. For the pie, the portion size was huge and the chips were good and crispy.
I've given 5 stars to all aspects as I believe it to be a fair, overall assessment of the premises and the people who run it.
The location is really lovely with wild pony's wandering all over the place.
STAFF
We stayed for four nights and we found the staff to be genuinely very friendly and accommodating. Alicia Verity and the bearded lad who's name I didn't get, were absolutely lovely and a true credit to the Inn and its owners. Verity particularly went to great pains to make us and our little dog Molly feel at home.
FOOD
Despite what I'd read in previous reviews we found the food to be well prepared and presented. With the exception of the Venison haunch which as a bit on the 'a la carte' side for my taste, in other words a bit lacking in the serving department, all other meals were tasty and generously proportioned.
ACCOMMODATION
Our room was lovely. Well presented clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was a tad soft for my taste but I was comfortable and slept well.
The only niggle for me was the stairs to our room. It was extremely steep and rather difficult to climb if you're blessed with big feet and dodgy hips. Perhaps a hand rail would help.
As you will have read, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return at some point soon however not all was to my liking. I'm referring to two things specifically that fall outside the remit of the on-site staff side and they are firstly the policy to take payment for the entire booking BEFORE you have even arrived. I agree that a percentage should be paid on booking but to then deduct the final bill before we've even seen the place is a bit steep. Secondly, at the end of an evening meal even staying guests, who have already paid £100's to be there, were asked to settle their bill every night. I appreciate they may have had people 'do a runner' in the past but fully paid up guests??? I suggest that the company revisit this policy because when I was informed by my bank I'd been hit for the bill for a holiday I hadn't had yet did cause me to reconsider the booking.
Lastly, the WiFi needs sorting. The coverage is good in the accommodation but in the bar it is spotty at best and is just annoying.
In conclusion, ignore the bad reviews and focus on the good cos these people and this place are what the phrase 'getting away from it all' is all about.
We will be back.......
Perfect stay! Really friendly owners and staff.
The menu was varied, and the food was delicious.
The room was faultlessly clean & the bed very comfortable.
A perfect place to stay for a wedding we were attending but also to explore.
Would definitely recommend 👌
Have driven past the New
Forest Inn many times so popped in for lunch,
the welcome service and food was all exemplary. One of the Nicest place we have found in the area. And very dog friendly too a big plus ! Would highly recommend.
