One of my favourite Southampton haunts. Excellent cocktails, drinks and prices. Love the staff. Nothing better than a Friday night at the star, or Saturday, or a Wednesday to be honest.
Had a couple of items off the new union bbq menu. Absolutely blown away by the food. The catfish goujons made me drool. Incredible! �
Thatchers haze cloudy cider on tap and Halloumi and pesto pepper burger!!! My new favourite place! Lovely staff! Great people, great garden, great music!! ���

Always a lovely night out. One star taken off though because although wheelchair accessibility is decent, there is no ramp for the front access step.
Patio seating is lovely and toasty with the ceiling heaters! Great for large parties.
2 for 1 pint cocktails do make it easy to get drunker than you mean to though!!! Music and vibe have always been good every visit, nice area to dance for those able to.
Security always take any harrassment seriously, and it's generally a very lgbtq+ friendly crowd.
Amazing outdoor area with cheap cocktails and alternative music. Strict Covid rules in place here which is great seeing as how busy it gets. Great tasting pint cocktails; which have unusual colours; great value and amazing value during the happy hours. Popular with students. Table service currently with app.
I have really started to enjoy coming to this bar for a cocktail or four! This is a very entertaining bar situated in the heart of Beavois Valley.
Not only is there a wide selection of drinks available including the famous hobbit cocktails, there is also 3 pool tables and an entire games room which includes Pinball and a Nintendo 64 with Mario Kart installed and set up ready to go!
Purchasing a jug saves you money as opposed to 2 pints of cocktails, and the DJ actually plays a song when you request it which seems to be rare these days!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and the cocktails were on point, cheap aswell, love it, brilliant place to go with friends, massive garden aswell, never had the food, that's if they actually do any, but there's nowhere to rate the drinks, so I put food at 5 stars.

My favourite bar ever. So many fond memories of this place, it has a special place in my heart. I’ve moved away but I really hope to return to shooting star again some day.
Friendly, alternative bar in Bevois Valley. 241 cocktails everyday. DJ Hammy nights are worth the 5 stars alone - a living legend!
