Crepes

Just went to Stakks Pancake House yesterday at 6pm. Immediately met with alert, warm and attentive staff, specifically Ollie and Annie- Ollie who showed me the ropes of my first experience at Stakks and Annie for serving me and making sure everything was good! My order: NYC Stakk (best seller) which I had with American pancakes + Chocoholic Stakk but as a crepe with white chocolate and whipped cream NYC Stakk: sweet saltiness with fluffy pancakes that are light as clouds. I can understand why it’s a best seller. Came with maple syrup and can tell it was made with TLC and effort. Bacon was crispy and did not have an ounce of fat which I personally love. The saltiness of the bacon was well was perfect, and the slight crunch to it was a fantastic contrast with the air light pancakes. Saltiness of the bacon was a nice pairing with the maple syrup. Even without the syrup, the pancakes and bacon alone did not feel dry. Smell was great, smells like a classic American diner. 3 layers of pancake all separated by 2 strips of bacon each. Chocoholic Stakk (Crepe), with white chocolate and whipped cream: I mean WOWZA! This was really nice! As someone with a sweet tooth, all I can say was that this was good, too good! Think of a melt of just marshmallow, Maltesers, white chocolate, milk chocolate shavings. Every element was just the perfect balance, nothing felt too much or overpowering in the mouth, a perfect blend of just chocolate and gooey heaven! They say don’t have dessert before dinner but I broke this unofficial rule (and will!) for this Stakk. If this isn’t a best seller it should be because it’s such a good little treat. Definitely happy I chose the crepe version as with American pancakes I feel it would be too dense and ruin the blend of everything. General notes - food only took 15 minutes from me entering to being out on my table. Didn’t even feel that long because everything was so efficient and smooth. Definitely coming back at a busier time to see if this changes but so far so good - Stakks has 2 menus: the ‘general’ and the ‘vegan’. There’s vegan/vegetarian options on both and there’s so many options and modifications that can be done to the food items so there is definitely something that fits everyone’s dietary needs - the staff were alert, warm, upbeat and attentive. Made me feel like I’m a regular rather than a first time guest. Special shout out to Ollie and Annie who made sure everything was okay with not just the order but with me as well. Can tell the team has a great working relationship! - Atmosphere: even though I went at an off peak time (6pm on Friday) and I was one of the few in Stakks, I didn’t feel alone. Had a nice jovial feel to it. Music in the background was a nice touch and the smells from the kitchen were very inviting, didn’t feel too much at any time. Had that family feel to it. - Cleanliness: very clean from the outside and even when I was eating, never noticed any mess and staff were constantly keeping the surfaces clean which I appreciate. - Seating: lots of seating for a place of that size, even some outside seating. Can defo adequately cater many people on a busy day but didn’t feel cramped- spaced out just right. Sat on one of the tables with the 4 chairs and was generally comfortable but as someone with wider hips the sides of the chair does dig into my sides so did have a -1 point in comfortability there. Had to sit a bit forward to be more comfortable. Main issue: something I have seen over and over in the reviews is the size of the Stakks and the price. I certainly agree with this. Whilst the Stakks were enjoyable, they were pricey for the size of them although I think this is more true for the American pancakes than the crepes but I would have liked larger everything for what I’m paying (total came up to over £20.89😬). I really want to be a regular (Annie gave me a loyalty card!!!), however if the prices don’t change or the Stakks don’t get bigger, there would be less incentive to return. Overall 4.1 stars/5. Wanna be a regular, here’s to more Stakks!!

We went here for breakfast pancakes. It was really enjoyable. Staff were very friendly polite and attentive. The owner/ manager delivered our food and was very welcoming and told us some history of how it began and what was on offer. Our food not only tasted great but well presented and as we were waiting for our food to be cooked we got to view other orders which also looked amazing. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back again

Visited the new Chandlers Ford restaurant with my daughters, nephews & father-in-law for a special treat. The kids absolutely loved their pancakes, smoothies & milkshakes, whilst us adults enjoyed our coffees. We visited in the evening, for dessert after having dinner at home - they are open until 7.30 so it was ideal. Friendly, attentive service as well. One of my nephews is lactose intolerant and I was competently advised on what he could have from the menu. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will be returning soon. I’d like to try the breakfast stacks next 🥞 😂

Incredible scenes Friendly and helpful service helps create an easy going vibe. Food is excellent, portions are generous, food made fresh and fast -price is very reasonable. Excellent place to take the kids for a treat, treat yourself out just get a savoury dish for a meal with a bit of variety. Definitely recommend this hidden gem - if it was in west quay you'd never get a table - being tucked in the Marlands you have to seek it out but it's totally worth it.
