Staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Too hot in there if you get sat near the carvery. It was boiling! The selection of vegetables was excellent. We always go to Runwell Village Toby but this one was just as good. Compliments to the chef!

Very good carvery. Food good. Don't always find the atmosphere very relaxing and chilled though. Might depend on what time of the day when visiting. Lunch time is usually busy with families and sometimes this detracts from a more chilled ambience. Although the service is good it's more cafe like in its approach. Good value but I prefer a traditional pub but that's just my personal taste. For families it's good.

Our waitress little Jess (I am a bit unsure it was Jess, but it was little ?, called this as there were 2 waitresses of the same name at Southend carvery.
She was a very friendly, bubbly, attentive and quick to help even though the restaurant today was super packed

I was really impressed with the care to detail when it comes to allergies. They were brilliant and helpful. With a severe allergy, It can be hard to eat out with a severe allergy, but here there were no worries. Our waitress, Lynn was really friendly. It was a lovely calm place to eat.

Me and my partner came to Toby today for the 50% off voucher, although there was a little bit of a wait (due to the vast amount of people also wanting a roast tonight!), we were sat down as quickly as possible and Lynn was incredibly helpful. She saw to us very quickly and made sure that everything was okay. Lynn made our experience at Toby just that bit better today and I am very grateful for her and the team who were doing their best to ensure everyone in the restaurant were happy. Thank you Lynn x

Evening didn’t start too well but our lovely waitress Kirsty turned it around. She’s a credit to Toby’s. And Kyle the carver was great & served us very generously. Molly the Manager was also very attentive & lovely. Can’t wait to go back again.
