Chai Cafe Southend

I am planning on joining the yoga community here soon and just thought I'd check the place out. Great vibe at the cafe and a very pleasant energy from the people in and around. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and caring in their attitude. If today is anything to go by I feel I've found my best go to place, for meeting new people and delicious, nutritious food.

Delicious food, chilled vibes and wonderful staff. I am a regular customer at Chai and the balance bowl that changes every 2 weeks is always amazing as-well as the usual menu I would defo recommend the loaded banana bread for something sweet! Picture is of the most recent balance bowl I had which was a bean chilli. :)

We were in Southend for the night visiting family and decided to try out Chai for breakfast as it was just round the corner from where we were staying. What a fantastic find. The decor was really warm and welcoming, as was Alice (?) who worked there and served us. It was great that we were asked about allergies too which made me feel much more comfortable. We each had a smoothie which were delicious and I highly recommend the cashew cheese on toast. I had it with added tempeh and coconut bacon and it was fabulous; lots of unusual flavours (in a good way!), like a holiday for the taste buds! If I’m in Southend again I’ll certainly come back.

The food is awesome and a refreshing change from usual vegan junk food fare that most plant based cafes offer. 100% try to head in if you can as the space has a great atmosphere and staff super friendly. Only issue I've had a couple of times is bits missing from order i.e Balance bowl missing tempeh and samosa, but I'm sure this is just unlucky so won't deter me from visiting/ordering again. Great independent business with best vegan food in town
