Lots of pubs on our trip and this one was one of the top . With a beautiful fire on a cold day after walking about it was very pleasing and the food was excellent as well .

We spent a lovely day visiting the town which is well worth the visit. We stopped in for a late lunch and it was quite busy but we found a table and settled in. We met Val working at the bar who was very busy but took our order and had a quick chat. Lunch came and everything was great! Much better than average for a pub. Wings, vegan burger, burger with pork belly and Nachos. When things slowed down a little we were able to get a few suggestions from Val of what to see and really enjoyed the quick chat, she was as great as the food. I highly recommend it here!

Expect a warm welcome at the Admiral Rodney. Lovely young barmaid made us feel welcome and filled us in with info about the rest of the pub. Beautiful flowers (not real!)in the windows and everywhere was clean and well kept. Also Doombar on tap and Pinot Grigio (cold.....not all pubs can claim that) at very reasonable prices. Well done Admiral Rodney!!

We dropped into this pub around lunchtime on Saturday without booking. Situated on the High Street, the pub was easy to find and in the heart of the town. We got there early and managed to find a table. It was very busy though, so if you need a table you may wish to book. We had a lovely meal and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We both had burgers - I had a chicken and my husband had pulled pork and chips and they were delicious. We also, had a side order of onion rings! It was very busy and we did have a little wait which was understandable. Generally a reasonably priced meal and would definitely recommend. We'll definitely be back!!
