Flinders Fish And Chips Take-away/ Restaurant

We always order the haddock as is advertised as large, and has always been enough for two (only one size of haddock is offered and we prefer it to cod). However, the last twice the fish has been much smaller - I don’t think it was anywhere near 14oz, as it is advertised. We thought it was a one off last week, and so thought we would try again this week - but disappointed again. Will have to re-evaluate before we order again.

I'll start with the good...or shall i say the great.... the food is excellent!!! Had 3 times and tried alot on the menu, burgers amazing, chips great, doner kebab meat is chunky and tasty, chicken doner tasty, sticky wings are the best. Was really looking forward to trying the gyros loaded chips last night but out of stock unfortunately(next time for sure) The not so good.... I'll start by saying living out in the sticks delivery times are usually longish(1 hr) from whichever takeaway you choose..... however had to wait over 2.5hrs last night which even to me is unacceptable (ordered at 5.30,expected 7.02, got delivered 8.08) hence the 4 not 5 stars. Staff were apologetic and polite. Normally that would be enough to put me off a place but hopefully it was just a bad day. Will definately order again because there is still alot of tasty sounding dishes to fill my face with!!

It’s the first time we had ever eaten from here and it did not disappoint!! We purcha the £20 family meal box and it fed 6 of us no problems at all!! We all enjoyed very much and had very full tummies afterwards! Everything was fresh and tasty. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be having our fish and chips from here again in the first!

Have had some good meals from Flinders over the years. The new owner has done great things to bring this fish shop up to date ,he has spent a lot of time and money improving the appearance of the shop inside and out, getting everything online and offering a delivery service, while managing rising costs, also offering a discounted menu and offering free children's meals in the holidays to help out while bills are rising. People should remember to use and appreciate local businesses and try to understand how they work rather than just thinking they are the most important customer. I wish all the best to Flinders for the future and all Donington's businesses in these difficult times.

Food is great, I love a good fish and chips and am partial to a kebab too, we order here regularly and rarely have any issues, on the occasions we have had a problem it has been quickly rectified and delivered sharpish 😀 Very friendly staff and well respected within the community. I just wish they done pizzas as I love pizza 🍕 Lots of different types of food to offer aswell.
