Haar Restaurant

Visited HAAR on a work trip recently & It exceeded all of my expectations!! The restaurant gave off a relaxed vibe yet stayed on brand with the fine dining promise. The food was excellent. I sampled the ‘North Sea Cod’ and was not disappointed! Great selection of Vegan Food too which I appreciated. The room was also gorgeous, so clean & cosy. Will definitely be back to stay here the next time I visit St Andrews😁

Simply put- perfect. My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Haar earlier this evening. We have returned home happy and full! I wish to note how incredibly attentive, knowledgable and welcoming each and every staff member we encountered were. We felt really looked after throughout and were made to feel special, even with a busy restaurant. We were checked on for drinks the ideal amount, it wasn’t intrusive and we never sat waiting with an empty glass. The food was incredible, each course was delicious and exciting. We were really in awe of the skills that were shown off in tonight’s meal. Not to mention how the presentation blew us away. The portion sizes were generous for a tasting menu and you certainly couldn’t leave hungry! Hard to choose but my favourite course was the the scallops and my partners the deer. However each course was thoroughly enjoyed. It was an exciting culinary journey, with clear direction. We will absolutely be back for our third visit and highly recommend Haar to anyone that is looking for excellent food and service!

This was bought as a gift from my girlfriend, and I was overwhelmed at how amazing it was. While the room was quite small, it came with everything we needed and also a super fan that kept us cool 😎. The setting in St Andrews is perfect, and it's a short walk to the beach and into the main town where there are shops, bars, and restaurants enough for everyone. Now .... the food .... we did a tasting menu and paired wines 🍷 which was absolutely incredible. If i could give it 6 stars, I would. It started with cocktails and an amazing chef doing starters with a paired French cremant. The menu had a mix of local produce, including beef, scallops, local trout, lobster, oysters with some amazing breads and other accompaniments.... the servers we had were young but full of passion for the produce and also explained who the wines would compliment the dishes, they were top class. The taste of this, including the wines, was amazing, and I will be talking of this with friends for a long time to come. In the morning, we had a lovely fulfilling breakfast and coffee ☕️ 😋 it really was a perfect time away.

Went for the 3 course tasting lunch. It was excellent. My only minor issue would be that I’m greedy, more of a quantity over quality type of guy, and the portion sizes weren’t huge. However the quality of the food more than made up for it. Thinking back to the miso butter gives me tingles. Staff were good too. Would go back

We went for dinner at Haar last night and had the tasting menu. This is now my favourite restaurant. Everything was outstanding from the moment we arrived. It was very theatrical in the way the food was served and the quality of the food was wonderful. Every course was presented like art on a plate and the garnishes and additions to each course left us amazed to experience how the flavours complimented the hero of each dish. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was exceptional. This is such a special restaurant and we can’t wait for our next visit.

Had the privilege of dining here last night. Can't emphasise how good the food at Haar is. Its not only the food but the experience. All staff were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable, explaining every detail (sometimes more than once!! Sorry 🙈). Can't wait to go back with friends and hopefully get the kitchen table.
