After three days, we finally found an excellent steak. Good Angus beef and properly cooked medium rare. Enjoyed all the food and the cocktails. Shame they were out of Drambuie. This is where we will eat when we're visiting. Very good service for Scotland.

Julie the owner is hospitable and welcoming. I love this Friday night weekend wind down. The most delicious cocktail trees for the end of the week tap out. Thank you to The Adamson! X

It was our first time at the Adamson, I really enjoyed it. The service was very good, very attentive and professional. The food was also great, very well presented, steak frites was super tasty.

Beautifully presented dishes. Can recommend the scallop entrée and the lamb main. Extra vegetables were required, and the brocolini tasty. Excellent wine list. Staff welcoming and helpful. Price range; £££ worth it, though. Excellent cocktail bar, too

Cocktails with friends. Good range of drinks but nothing for those who like sweeter drinks. Staff helpful trying to pick something my friend would like. The drinks themselves were all really well presented. My only (very small) complaint was that the lighting seems to brighten then dim every few minutes and once you notice, you can't un-notice!

We love the Adamson and visited several times when in St Andrews. We arrived on Friday at 4:30pm and were seated in the bar. We had dinner and three bottles if wine and we were having a great night. The bar was filling up with walkins but there were still tables available. Out of the blue, the server told us we had to vacate our table. When we were seated we weren’t told that the table was booked for later that evening. It just brought our evening to an abrupt end and there was no effort to move us to another area when we could finish our drinks.

A total scene. We only had a brief cocktail before dinner elsewhere, and people-watching alone made this place worth the stop, though the drinks themselves were a disappointment. A mojito was virtually tasteless, and the negroni was well-presented (ice, glassware, garnish) but a curiously low amount of liquid (did they run out of something?) for the price. We had much better (and larger) drinks later at another local restaurant.

We ate here the other night and we enjoyed our meal. We were 1 hour early for our booked table but they were kind enough to give us a table. We asked to sit outside. The table was very small for the 4 of us and the chairs weren’t that comfortable. The staff were very friendly. However, they could be a little better with their service. Once we got our table my wife and dad went to the toilet and we were immediately asked if we were ready to order drinks. I thought it was a bit premature of them asking as the whole party wasn’t there. We got water and bread for the table and asked the waiter to come back in a few minutes. Before our mains, staff walked past our table a number of times and didn’t collect our bread board which we had clearly finished. When our mains arrived the waiter realised that one little table wouldn’t fit all our meals so he awkwardly pulled another over with his hands full. The bread board was still there so the waitress had to do a swap with me. I feel that this awkwardness could have been avoided if the staff were a little more on the ball with the tables and clearing the used board before serving the mains. The food itself was really good. I got the fillet steak which lovely. However, I asked for medium rare but it was definitely more on the medium side. I also thought it was very small considering how expensive it is. I got truffle and parmesan fries with it which were ok. They were bog standard fries with Parmesan sprinkled on top. I couldn’t taste the truffle. My wife got fish and chips. She said the fish was delicious and the chips were fine. My mum got the prawn linguine which she really enjoyed and couldn’t fault. My can’t remember the name of the vegetarian dish my dad got but he said it was nice. For dessert I got the chef’s physician which was incredibly tasty (just wish there was more of it), my mum got a meringue dessert which was also lovely and my wife got sticky toffee pudding which was scrumptious. Overall, we had a good meal. Staff are very friendly but service could be improved. I also believe that it was a bit expensive.
