Our room was on ground level opposite the outdoor pool. Little did we know that the path was a walk through for staff, so very difficult to sit outside, when we did the chairs were moved by a member of staff. We reported that a small window was broken, it was just closed. Plus the voiles had rips. The bathroom was clean and modern. To have a caddy for your shampoo etc would be a bonus. Breakfast was excellent, huge selection. A new upgraded toaster would be welcome. Most of the staff were friendly. As we arrived early and had a late flight back we were allowed to store our flight bags, for which we were gratefull. Would we stay here again at the ommaroo, sadly no.

We went to the restaurant on a Sunday evening, whilst it was a large/cavernous space probably used for events, weddings etc, lacking in character, we are so glad that we decided to eat there as the food and service was superb, we had the lamb tagine and chicken snitzel, special mention to Cyrus who served us, such a lovely chap.

4 nights at Ommaroo hotel for 2 adults and a 3 year old. We arrived earlier than our room being ready, however this was to be expected and the friendly member of staff working in reception was happy to look after our luggage so that we could take our son off to the beach without delay! There is a nice beach, pier and sea water “Lido” swimming area easily accessible and literally just yards from the front of the hotel. We were able to get our room still earlier than expected and shown how to reach it. The hotel itself is a network of corridors and different levels serving access to many rooms. There is a good bar with pleasant lounging and dining areas plus great sea views. Our favourite area was just off from the bar with games and books to keep the family entertained whilst soaking up the beach vistas and fresh air through the wide open french doors. Cris worked the bar and paid special attention to our son, making sure we got our drinks to the table along with extra toys and crayons; really nice service thanks Cris. Our L-shaped family room had pleasant decor and was plenty spacious with a large comfortable double bed and a single bed at the other end. Our view was of the swimming pool and up Cleveland Rd - perfectly fine. The bathroom was large, modern build and boasted substantial sink and bath/shower; we had everything we would need. Breakfast was buffet style; each morning of consistent good quality items to choose from cereals, fruits and expected continental items to cooked full English bacon & eggs plus a number of coffees and fresh juices for self-service. For the first 2 mornings we were also able to order an omelette to the table, however this service was retracted during the last 2 sittings, apparently due to such orders taking too long to fulfil by the kitchen, yet offered scrambled egg or poached egg alternatives. We used the restaurant for evening service just once and the food was delicious from the set menu. Our son enjoyed fresh pizza from the children’s menu. Thanks to Cyrus for his patience and nice table service, helping us to an area of the dining hall where we could let our son relax yet minimise any disturbance to other guests (our choice). Outdoor heated swimming pool was good and fine for my son who wore armbands as he still learns to swim. Not overcrowded and gardens well maintained. We’re certain that we’d stay at Ommaroo hotel Jersey again.

During our 8 night stay we found just about everything to be spot on with the hotel and its staff. The room was large and well looked after, as was the bathroom. Storage was plentiful although another suitcase stand and quieter cupboard handles wouldn't have gone amiss if you're being picky. The room was 'serviced' every day and things topped up, which is not so common these days. Breakfast was at good times, 7.30am to 10am and the choice and quality was excellent. No thin and fatty bacon here. We had to leave early morning and it's not a problem to go to breakfast early, all the options are ready and waiting except for the hot 'english' buffet. We only ate in the hotel one evening, wish we'd done it sooner. Although I found the whole island of Jersey expensive for eating out, the hotel was on a par pricewise with other restaurants and possibly cheaper than some of the town ones, however it was definitely worth it. Totally over ordered but it was fresh, delicious and a large portion. The hotel is outside of the town area on a very busy road at peak times and even though we were at 'ground' level, which is actually just above road level, this did not bother us and our balcony had very noise proof doors/windows. Had the advantage of a very close bus stop. Took a few days to find the quickest way into the town area, and this is where I felt the hotel could have done better: there was no bedroom browser or information: not even a QR code to scan for info. Consequently we were unaware items could be ordered at breakfast, no info on pool times, (we ended up being locked out in the pool area and had to ring for assistance to get back in), not even a menu to look at for the restaurant etc There are racks of tourist info around but basic info about the hotel and its facilities was severely lacking. I expect hotels these days to provide info on towel changes especially what to do to ensure they are not needlessly changed, not even a note about this. They may have been changed every day for all I know. Info is a tiny thing but makes you feel welcome and aids a great holiday. Overall, fabulous hotel, Tracy in the breakfast room is amazing, lovely sea views and close to town if you like a walk.

Mostly good. Great location. We had amazing sea views although our balcony didn't receive much sunshine.
