Not only was this the best pub we visited during our trip to Jersey, but it is one of the best I've ever been to anywhere. Delightfully decorated with very comfy seating and spacious too.
An absolutely top-notch range of ales and ciders on handpull alone would make it worth the visit. However, the friendly welcome from locals and staff alike kicked things up several notches. Great pork pies added to the experience. It was so good we went out of our way the next day to go back again. We weren't disappointed.
I did have to smile when I saw Banks's Mild on handpull; the brewery is a (long) stone's throw from us, yet I've hardly seen it served this way in many a year. Well done The Lamplighter and all who sail in her!

A little gem which we happened upon lots of real ales and a whiskey list like I've never seen before. Friendly and knowledgeable staff help you make your choices should you need them and a friendly bunch of customers. An all round great experience. I'm not a whiskey drinker but felt obliged to try one which was recommended for a novice like me.

In my opinion, the best pub in Jersey. 5 cask ale, 4 ciders, 100's of whiskies and the best selection of brandy I have ever seen. Every night was busy with a cracking friendly atmosphere. I visited The Lamplighter every evening I was in St. Helier during my week visit to Jersey and it will be my first port of call when I return.

A very charming and great pub. Lots of whiskies and a fine choice of beers. The staff knows it’s drinks and one can watch football and other sports, even on big screen.
