St Ives Harbour Kitchen, Bar & Terrace

Harbar has a great view in the main restaurant, a big patio and a cool bar area. Make a reservation for a table by the window. The food was excellent. The mussels were some of the best we have had, and the scallops were delicious too. The vege burger and thick cut fries were tasty. Service is friendly and the decor is sharp. My only complaint was the incredibly loud table of 3 kids who were a total nightmare at the table next to us. Not the restaurants fault, but we left right after eating due to them.

Really poor customer service and rude bar / restaurant staff not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. This hotel couldn’t be further from a rating of 4*. Every table on the terrace was dirty when we arrived which suggested they were very lax about cleanliness and clearly the safety of their guests during COVID-19. We won’t be visiting again nor would we recommend dinner / drinks to anyone. The way we were treated by this hotel completely ruined the last night of our stay in Cornwall.

Please beware of this place as extremely unprofessional and untrustworthy. We have made a booking seven weeks ahead and just 24hours before they have cancelled it stating they don't have capacity. It would have been a good courtesy if they have warned us at least few days ahead so that we could have booked an alternative rather than cancelling us at the very last minute.

Seems like a nice place but they had a 'we are open' sign outside pointing to a terrace and door that was locked and out of action. They said they were open on Google maps. When we finally found our way inside we were told it was residents only. Would have been fine if they'd taken down the 'we are open' sign inviting us in and not wasted our time. We planned it especially as a stop on our evening.

Terrible service. My girlfriend and I booked a table for dinner at 19:30, arrived & checked in at the bar entrance & asked to sit outside which was fine as you can only book a table inside but can go outside if they have tables free, we were given a paper drinks menu & went to sit outside. All the tables were unfortunately clearly dirty & hadn’t been cleaned which isn’t great in these Covid times & I would put this down to lazy staff & I don’t think there’s any excuse for allowing customers to sit at dirty tables, but we sat down at a table. A large group came down via the outdoor stair entrance and asked for a table for drinks, the staff then came over and took their drink order ignoring us even though we were there first. It was around 20 minutes before one of the guys on the bar came to take our order but by this point I wasn’t really happy with the service and the whole experience so I had booked to grab food from somewhere else, I told the staff (2 men at the bar) to cancel the table and that I wasn’t happy with the service & the staff didn’t seem too bothered with my complaint but unfortunately I couldn’t bring myself to support this business with such complacency towards its customers & instead went to support one of the brilliant restaurants in town

Probably some of the best views in St. Ives. The bar is outside with comfortable sofas and looks as if it provides table service. I am still unsure whether it does or not. I went up to the bar inside to order a gin and tonic and a glass of an excellent premier cru rose champagne. Unfortunately they had no champagne glasses (which they ought to for £11). Good choice of gin glasses though.
