Superb…..the harbour view room had the comfiest bed with a lovely duvet & bedding.
The food is delicious & beautifully presented…although the menu is quite small…. The buttermilk pancakes at breakfast were sublime!
All the staff were friendly & attentive.
The whole place has a great vibe.

The restaurant industry is highly competitive and The Rising Sun not only rose to the challenge, it excelled and won. Their busy evening followed what was clearly a busy afternoon. However, the way the business was organised was a testament to their success. The service provided was perfect in its delivery, leaving centre stage to the quality of the food. We ordered Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid, Line Caught Mackerel Nicoise, Chicken Supreme. The food and presentation was stunningly good. You could easily pay a lot more and for this quality of cooking. Superb. The setting was fabulous, beautifully decorated. The loos were the best we'd ever seen. We will return this week. Well done, The Rising Sun. 10/10.

It looks recently renovated. All very tasteful and stylish. And the food is great and the service friendly and very efficient. We were a party of nine and everyone was more than happy with the choices.

Was very busy, but expected it to be as it was falmouth sea shanty weekend. Food came out very quickly..was very nice and hot but was a little let down on the size of the fish, last time we visited, the fish was hanging over the edge of the plate, hake was only on offer this time with the fish & Chips. I had the chicken gougons which were also very nice. Will visit again for sure.

Vegetarian and vegan friendly! Had the best “f*sh n chips” (banana blossom) which was absolutely banging. My meat eater partner wasn’t excited about the burger but the “flatbread w cauliflower and hummus” that we shared as a starter, which looked like a pizza and had curry sweet and spicy hints blew his mind (and mine). Really friendly staff!

It's opening day today and we've been in for lunch, absolutely spot on. Friendly staff, beautiful location and view from inside the restaurant, we've just has a delicious lunch consisting of the Scampi and the Burger which were spot on. These guys deserve every success in the future and if your visiting St Mawes drop in and enjoy. Really good old traditional fare not the modern bits of nothing that all other restaurants seem to do these days.
