Spent 3 nights at Spital campsite in our tent this week. Communication with Lisa was fab. She called me on the morning of arrival to let me know how to contact her if she wasn't in thr office when we arrived. When we got there we called the number and she was at the reception quickly to take us to our pitch. It is cash only there but that wasn't any problem. Our pitch was level and tucked away in a corner which was nice, and the area we were in was secure so our children could run up and down the field safely too. The owner stopped by our pitch for a chat too while doing a check round and he was lovely. The road can be a bit loud as the site is located right on the corner of the main road, although this didn't bother us much. The road in is right off the roundabout so you need to go steady, exiting the site is at the other side as it's a one way system and not too bad to pull out of. The location is great, we visited Whitby (45 minutes away), Scarborough (25 minutes away) and Filey (15 minutes) during our stay. The toilets were always nice and clean too. The site was rather quiet while we were there. We unfortunately didn't get chance to pop into the shop and tearoom :( i wanted to but we went out every day. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Spital Inn and so did the kids :)

Called in for coffee after a walk. Really friendly, warm welcome and service. Coffee was good and very reasonable priced. Although we didn't buy anything the shops sold some interesting crafts which would make perfect Christmas presents.
