Had a wonderful meal at the wheatsheaf, the food is great and my seafood linguine was superb. My husband is celiac and was well looked after with all gluten free foods and beer. Claire, Jason and staff where exceptional, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic food, friendly staff and a really lovely place. I had the liver and it was delicious and very tender. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be paying many visits in the future!

Great pub and amazing restaurant, you will need to know where it is, tucked away and unassuming, but it is far from ordinary, the staff are friendly and the restaurant it larger than you would expect but we'll spaced for a private meal. The menu had some great options and was well priced, the food was served quick enough and very well presented. The starters and mains were fantastic, the whole group had a lovely meal and the experience was great. Will definitely return to sample the desert menu and other choices.

We went for the first time after being recommended to go, and were not disappointed. The mains and desserts were delicious and all freshly made. The staff were friendly and welcoming, so I would definitely recommend a visit.

Met up here with family as a matter of chance due to a change of plans. We dropped on lucky! We sat in the bar area due to having a dog in tow but this didn’t impact on the service or the quality of the food at all, both were excellent. Good menu for both the veggies and meat eaters in our party and catered well to all of our individual meal requirements different to those shown on the menu. If we lived closer I would be a regular here without a doubt!

Amazing find. Called in on way home from Alton Towers and so glad we did. Clare the landlady is friendly and welcoming. The food is wonderful and plenty of it. The Lemon Roulade was very good and all reasonably priced too. Would definitely call in if in the area.

We stopped by this morning by chance of having breakfast. We didn't realise that it was booking only but the staff kindly fit us in anyway. The staff were really welcoming to us and nothing was too much trouble. My husband had a traditional English breakfast which looked and tasted excellent and I had the waffle with poached egg, bacon and syrup which was also delicious! The bar and restaurant were very quiet with just one other couple in so lovely and peaceful. Would highly recommend and a lovely find!

This place is amazing! The food is absolutely unreal, probably some of the best home-made pub style food I’ve had in a long long time. Staff are so so lovely too, all so helpful, kind and funny. Made us feel really welcome

The owner ensured we were seated in a quieter area in the restaurant knowing our circumstances with covid. He spoke to us with such passion and dignity, we felt really welcomed and safe by all members. We cannot wait to come again to such a lovely environment. Thank you so much for making our afternoon so lovely, we are really looking forward to coming back again.

Pub/restaurant in a lovely village setting. Very warm welcome, attentive staff - but never obtrusive. We had Sunday lunch on our 1st visit, which offered a very good range of dishes - I had a very tasty, properly cooked as pasta should be, king prawn linguini - alongside 2 traditional roast with all the trimmings and approximately 8 sensibly portioned accompanying veg. The main menu available on other days is very extensive and smacks of a business that really knows their business! Real ales, good quality, range and sensibly priced wine list - by the glass or bottle. Very atmospheric, relaxing restaurant and bar area with well appointed seating / tables. Very good vfm. Will definitely be returning here.
