Best fish & chips!
We were staying in the local area on holiday and came to the village just for this chippy.
Ordered 2 reg fish & chips (which were massive) and 1 portion of mushy peas, came to just over £20 which was excellent value for the size of the portions and the quality of the food.

Potatoes and tasted like it too. Decent peas and curry sauce. Everything was cooked to order, which makes a massive difference. All in all, couldn’t fault it.
We visited on a Thursday evening after it was recommended by our Airbnb host The queue of people waiting for their fish and chips outside is a good sign. It is obviously very popular and a small car park is available opposite, although most parked along the road. The staff were friendly and even brought around some mint chocolates for the customers waiting outside.
We ordered regular fish and chips and you get a lot! There is a pretty garden next to the chip shop with benches and places to perch and eat your meal.
I definitely recommend it.
Family run quaint little chip shop! Everything is cooked fresh to order, and OH MY, the fish batter is so light and crispy. The fish, so fresh and tasty. Best chippy ever!!!!
Every member of staff are so friendly, always make a fuss of the kids :-)
We travel around 50 minutes for this treat, we'd happily travel longer for this treat!
I visited Toll Bar Fish & Chips for the first time today, after driving past several times and saying to myself 'I must try that place some time'. I'd seen the excellent reviews on Google so had high expectations, and I was not disappointed. I was greeted by friendly staff, my fish and chips were cooked to order in a matter of minutes, and I enjoyed them sat to a table outside in the sun. The food was delicious, and a great portion size - great value for money. If I'm nitpicking, there was a little more salt than I'd like put on the chips, but that's easily done. I've already been recommending the place to friends and family, and I hope to visit again soon to sample some of the other items on what is quite a varied menu for a chippy. Fantastic!
I had fishcake chips and beans. I was a large portion for a fair price. I really enjoyed it.
Perfect location with a lovely stream & a few places to sit nearby. The fish & chips were fantastic and a really good size, fish (Cod) was cooked to order. Served in recyclable/biodegradable containers with wooden forks too.

An unexpected surprise, I 100% was not expecting top quality fish 🐟 & chips 🍟 in the middle of nowhere, superb fish and chip, definitely worth a visit if in the area, highly recommend 👍🏻(sorry no pictures… I eat it in no time 🫣)
