What an absolute little gem of a place !!
We were away for the night for our Anniversary & found this on the internet . Absolutely fabulous food , all 3 courses we both had were delicious . The staff were very attentive & polite . The restaurant has a lovely feel to it too ! Would definitely recommend it :-)

Had the garlic mushrooms to start followed by the lamb shank. Both cooked to perfection lovely leisurely meal, would definitely recommend and would return.

An overnight trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a little culture for me and my sis, Toni. After a lovely day of sightseeing, bus tours, stopping at pubs for a bit of local fayre, we needed to make a decision for dinner. Main Dining Room of The Opposition. Our first choice was The Dirty Duck. We had heard this was “the place to go” – so we believed them. Them being the tourist crowd. We wandered around the large restaurant hoping someone would notice and seat us. Sadly, in the end we seated ourselves and tried our best to get someone’s attention to get some menus. What we got was a group of people who walked over to us and said “don’t do it!” We asked… “don’t do what?” “Don’t eat the food, its terrible, awful infact!” They then showed us some horrible photos of food. We got up and walked out. It was fine as no-one had even come over to us. The Opposition was recommended by the people leaving.
Eating out almost every night for a 2 week holiday this was the best meal we had. Highly recommend Goan Mussels and the Banana Chicken! Awesome.

Went into lambs next door and it was full but they directed us here as it was their sister restaurant. We had the meatball starter, chicken and banoffee pie and everything was great. Service was friendly and the prices were fair.
The chicken and chips was done really well. They also had a mussels special which seemed very popular.
Visited for our anniversary meal whilst staying for the weekend. John was so attentive and made our night very special. The food was amazing we will definitely return if we are ever in Stratford again
Popped in for lunch as it looked nice from outside, glad we did as its lovely, food was great and the service was spot on, there's lots of good restaurants on this row but I'd choose this one again.
Wow we had a really amazing dinner here, the service was really friendly, no pressure to leave at the end of the evening, a huge variety of food. We both had the plaice for our main course and it was cooked to perfection with lashings of butter - and the hazelnut parfait for dessert was lovely too. Could not fault, surpassed all expectations

This restaurant is really busy, small and crowded restaurants! The food was delicious but not amazing. Like my chicken pasta dish, had most chicken then pasta and it was a bit dry as well. The staffs are nice and they allow guided dog.
First time at this establishment and I was very impressed. Friendly staff and a very good menu, in fact, one of the best meals I have had in Stratford so far. Recommended!!
The service sets this restaurant apart. John and his team were incredible hosts and they just understand great service - true hospitalitarians. Great food at reasonable prices. Atmosphere also very good.
Just went here and possibly the last meal out in 2020 due to Covid19. All Covid secure, bright and clean. I had the three course for £20 and excellent value. All three courses, especially the grilled Salmon were lovely. The Lamb shank was perfect. Efficient friendly service as well. Much better of a pub lunch then the usual pub chain rubbish.Will definitely go back once this pandemic fiasco is over. Excellent 👍👍
First visit with a varied menu for most tastes. Very friendly personable staff a great credit to this restaurant.
