This is the best chip shop in the country & I’m a truck driver & have tried chip shops all over the place.
Very nice
Queens is the number one please to go on the seafront for fish and chips. The staff are always friendly and lovely to chat to, the price is reasonable and the portion size is massive! We wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Was back in Sunderland after 13 years and6 of us eat inside , very good fish and chips/tea and service .Really enjoyed and sensible price.
Went back 2 days later with my Grandaughter and eat inside .
The quality and portion size very good .
Will return next time in Sunderland
Our 6th fish & Chips shop through Wales, Ireland, Scotland.
This is the best by far. Fresh and crispy batter, cooked to perfection!
Highly recommended.
First time we went it was because it's queue was shorter than the one next to it. Now it's our first choice friendly staff. Food always piping hot. The fish is fish to the end , no inch of batter all around. Chips hot crisp and taste like proper fish shop chips. Price about average for a seaside shop.
Quality fish & chips, and a cozy nostalgia-inducing atmosphere. The staff are dead friendly too. I've been coming here for years, but my mum says she's been visiting since she was in her teens, and she's 75 now :P I hope the cafe lasts another 100 years :)
Fish battered well, chips cooked properly and the best curry sauce we've had. The fish sizes were variable and we got one small one and two reasonable ones. We'll give it another go though.
The signs about the no public toilets are confusing as there is actually a toilet for customers, and one man was a bit gruff with my mam till he realised we were customers sitting outside. These Signs are a bit off putting in general as they are quite... Aggressive. Guess they had a problem with people using their toilets, but saying toilets are for customers would be a fair and nicer way of getting the message across.
We'll definitely try here again though
Had a fantastic meal at Queen's today. Very friendly staff and fresh fish. Would highly recommend this place to anyway for a quick meal
Travelled from Gateshead as have always loved the fish & chips from here. Young lad, who I guess was new, put my partners up, which turned out to be half the size of my portion (shown in pic) which one of the ladies put up! Slightly disappointed in size, but taste was spot on.
We have just had sausage, chips and batter take away, it was lovely, the gentleman who served us was nice and friendly, I can't recommend this cafe enough, if you have never been give it a try, i'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Simply the best fish and chips I've ever had
