Traditional Italian cafe. The owner is really friendly and very accommodating with an adult with autism. Showed interest and understanding. Clean toilet facilities.
Popped in for breakfast having driven past many times. Had presumed it to be a sandwich shop of sorts and was surprised to find it's more of a traditional Italian cafe/ restaurant.
The coffee was fantastic.
I had a full English which is served with ciabatta for that slight Italian touch. It was delicious. Good quality ingredients, egg cooked to perfection - lovely runny yoke!
Priced reasonably £5.95 for full English. £2.30 for coffee. Lunch menu looked good too - we'll be back to check it out!
It's something of a hidden gem this place! Perhaps people presume it to be connected to the church it shares a building with - it isn't!
The proprietor was very friendly and attentive.
If you want a taste of Italy without all the travelling and costs...then look no further. A gem of a place and the food really is authentic Italian cuisine.
Just tried one of the special dishes, the Pasta Fagioni...tasted great!...Thanks to Pepe and the staff 😊
Fantastico! Pepe and his team are fab. If you want to taste authentic Italian home cooked food then this is the place to eat. My little boy chooses here over anywhere else...says it all really.
It is below St Anthony's Church on Alexander Road. As drivers go it is possible not to spot it. You will see the church cross, take the next turning, it looks nothing until you pass through the door, you then get the most friendly staff a great Italian restaurant owner. He has the place done out like a Italian bistro, very relaxing and the food is good. If you can give it a try.
Superb pasta n ciabatas with fresh tomatoes n peppers. Fantastic!!
Sunderlands best kept secret! Spacious, clean, quality food, prepared by Italians (Italians have the best menu in the world). The only thing thats frozen is the ice cream.... All food is fresh served pipping hot, NO cold beans, uncooked eggs or gease pool. Sausages are my personal favourite. Very welcoming staff, never feel lonely or makes you feel like a nuisance, and Peppe (Owner/chef) is very wise, always learn something new every time I visit. Overall love this place clear 5 stars.
Beautiful food and friendly staff. Waitress was so helpful with choosing our meal. Owner very friendly and accommodating.
Brilliant full English breakfast, more people should get to know and visit this gem of a place at the bottom of Strawberry Bank in the basement of the Luthuran Church in Sunderland.
The best place to go for a breakfast. It has a real Italian feel. Keep up the good work
