Thai Secret

Introduced by some friends, but I had walked past several times, thinking that while the restaurant was simply decorated, it had an air of refinement about it. The menu looked interesting, though I know little of Thai food. Well, it lived fully up to expectations. The starter of scallops with chilli and lime juice, followed by a Massaman lamb shank with potato and steamed rice were utterly delicious! I enjoy spicy food so was not worried by their statement that they try to spice authentically, meaning that some dishes might be a little hotter than people might expect. These were not meant to be more than "one chilli" hot anyway - and were perfect. The chef popped out twice to check I was happy, and the waiter/barman was equally attentive. In all, it was a great first Thai meal and I shall certainly be visiting again.
