Harvester The Plough

My reflections on the food is not based on the quality of the food supplied by the chef but based on the new breakfast menu rolled out by Harvester. While I was there today I observed 2 groups look at the new menu and walk out. Please bring back the old breakfast menu. Also with this new menu rollout you cannot swap out items, instead you have to pay extra for items you wish to swap in. That is a money grab, and what about those who need to swap something out because of allergies? I feel sorry for the staff here as they are all great without exception, but they are the ones who have to listen to the customers rant about the new menu and how bad it is. The food you get is good quality but the menu change is very bad.

This place is on my doorstep, looks like it could do with some updates to the outside but once you step foot indoors service is impeccable. Each time, you are welcomed by the loveliest set of staff who are so accommodating and nice, from the start and right up to the end. I told my friend if we choose any Harvester this one has the best quality food. Tonight however was just exceptional. Served by 2 ladies who went above and beyond to make mine and my old friends dinner, with our 2 daughters, such a lovely dining experience. Food quality is very high already , but we had asked for our steaks to be checked as they were a little overcooked. Without a blink, the chefs and the waitress returned with our new steaks cooked to perfection and not a single gripe; happy that we were happy. Could not have been more grateful and it was delicious! Bills were split seamlessly at the end with our Groupon voucher and even though we were last to leave tonight, the staff still had smiles as we left bellies stacked! Epic restaurant. We had late lunch on Monday :) did not book the table. Not crowded. Staff are generally friendly but bit slow service. I think less staff are working on weekdays. Salad bar some are fresh some are not fresh. And looks like the chicken portions small than before. Still good tasty 😋 toilet was clean and lots of space for car parking 🅿️ you need to enter your car reg at front till. Lunch set also available but we ordered separated main and drink each. Total we paid around £40 !! I think it’s still good price !!
