The Grumpy Mole

Visited this restaurant yesterday, 15/10/23. Right from the start the front of house was very welcoming and friendly. The waiting staff were also just as welcoming and friendly. The choice of food and quality is outstanding. I chose the Sri Lankan Chicken Curry it was absolutely beautiful. My husband went for the three meat roast dinner meal it looked divine and i was told the meat was beautiful. I hasten to add he didn't leave anything!! The kitchen chef and crew are to be praised. All the staff are a credit to their Manager and i would definitely go back. Well done everyone and thank you for an enjoyable experience.

Visited with my husband and daughter for lunch earlier in the week. We hadn't been here for quite a few years but thought we would try it again. We are very glad that we did, as we found our dishes of curry, fish and chips and steak very good indeed but what made the lunch even more enjoyable was the excellent service we received from our waitress, Abby. She was cheerful and welcoming whilst being very attentive and professional. Despite her young years, she has obviously learned very quickly how to look after her customers, anticipating our need for more drinks, for example, before we had to ask and rushing to pick up cutlery that my daughter had dropped on the floor and quickly replacing it. She is an asset to the Grumpy Mole and deserves 5 stars! We will certainly return.

We had a family meal your establishment for my wife's 80th birthday, yesterday, at 13.30 pm. My only criticism about service was the long gaps between servings. Considering you were serving afternoon teas whilst we were finishing our main course or certainly our desserts. Apart from that, my wife thoroughly enjoyed herself, thanks mainly to the family of course. We will be back, making that iconic quote!

Nice place, service was really good. Food was a mixed bag. I had the Mediterranean platter which was small, and honestly a bit average, the cauliflower in particular was not great. Sweet potato fries a bit soggy. I still ate them, so clearly not all bad My lunch partner had the pie which looked good and she very much enjoyed

Before I moved to epsom this was my local. I came here for a meal today and the service and staff were lovely. Beautiful food and warm cosy atmosphere. We are coming here again in January. You can’t beat the quality of the food here and the service. Thank you. Update - the grumpy mole did a fantastic job with my Nans wake yesterday the staff went above and beyond and the whole experience was very lovely. Thank you so much to all the team at grumpy mole. We really appreciate it. We also came here for my partners birthday. He had the steak on the stone and what a fantastic experience. The food here is top quality and the staff are so lovely. They go above and beyond here.
