Lovely food. Great location. Small animals out back. Garden seating. You need to book a table to eat though!

On our family holiday to Taunton, we booked an evening meal at the Holman Clavel Inn. 24 of us! The staff were amazing, attentive and the food was divine! Thank you so much.

Very local, rural & down to earth pub with plenty of off road car parking round the back. Warm welcome. Four of us sampled a good Sunday roast of beef & large Yorkshires. Comprehensive pudding list. Just over £23 per head with drinks Recommend booking. On our Sunday lunch pub list

An absolute gem of find. Classic English pub that serves top quality food! My husband and I decided to have meal there tonight and definitely didn't regret it. I had the gammon, egg and chips (but subbed the chips for their truffle and parmesan fries)...and have to say they were the best fries ever! My husband had the steak and ale pie with mash and veg and he has been raving about it since. The atmosphere is wonderful, a proper country pub with everyone being so friendly. Definitely will recommend this place to friends and family!

Entering this place was like stepping back in time, because it's a genuine old, rustic country pub with a log burner and the kind of atmosphere that is rare in today's world dominated by gastropubs and sports bars. Friendly landlady, good choice of ales and ciders, interesting menu. The roast dinner was highly recommended by a regular. Certainly worth a visit. I only stopped for a drink, but will return for a meal.

Camping just down the road and this was our closest pub. What luck! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had my two children with me and they were lovely to them. Excellent ice cream for the boys and good, well kept beer for me. Locals were also very welcoming and friendly. A proper rural pub .

Excellent pub, good beers and with friendly staff. We showed up for lunch and although they were out of roasts (we hadn’t booked, so our fault) they kindly pulled together some steak sandwiches for us - a true life saver as we had two hungry kids with us! Will be back anytime we’re in the area.

Unfortunately not able to eat there as didn't book before... turned up as passing. Very popular place. Food looks good 👍. One downside.... as much as I like seeing chickens, geese and other fowl in their rightful place, at this venue, the birds are wandering all around the grassed car parking area. Feathers, bird poo a bit of a put off!! And being attacked by geese as trying to get to car... not great experience. The pub owner would do well to erect a proper enclosure for the fowl, where they would be safe, and away from customers driving in and out from the very busy main road, and walking to and from their cars from pub ..🫢

Very pleasantly surprised. We have driven past this pub numerous times in the past whilst visiting relatives and wrongly thought it was a typical boozer. Glad to report how wrong this impression was. Yes it is a smallish venue and the food tables are in the main bar ( with a seperate dining area at one end ) The food is very good and cooked fresh to order, prices are good and the staff are very friendly - as were the regulars. The pub is lively but not in a bad way and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It is a country pub so you must expect the fact that people bring their dogs - however we did not see any instances of them being allowed anywhere near the kitchen/other diners as some reviews suggest. The only drawback is you may have to park on the road outside the pub. We enjoyed the place that much that we booked Sunday lunch following our visit on Saturday and have booked for next week Sat night & Sunday lunch. Great place!
