Fallow Field

We had a most enjoyable evening, the food was excellent and both mine and my husbands steak was cooked perfectly. Jane was our waitress and she was a delight, friendly, communicative and we had a bit of a giggle with her, she was so good natured. The only one thing that irritated us slightly was that when we were seated, our elderly friend felt a little uncomfortable with the table we were given so we asked the manager if we could possibly be seated elsewhere, she said unfortunately not as they were fully booked so no other tables were available to us. A gentleman did alter the positioning of the ceiling light for us as it was shining directly into our friends eyes and we were grateful. What did irritate us though was that throughout the evening, we could see that there were tables that remained empty so unless there had been a mass ‘not going out tonight because it’s raining’ we felt we had been incorrectly advised!!!! The manager didn’t even check on the computer to confirm whether or not the other tables were available, so it rather felt as if it was easier for us to be treated dismissively. It did not detract from the evening though and as I said, the service and the food was excellent. We will most definitely visit again very soon.

I live in Birmingham and my friend lives in Telford. We planned to go to a different place to eat but it was closed so we chose to drive around and the lights in Fallow field just attracted us and I do not regret it. The staff were great and attentive, the food was amazing and I was so impressed with the portion size; my Passion fruit mocktail was amazing. There was a live singer who bought such great ambience to the atmosphere.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who seated us straight away. Our drink and food order were taken promptly and drinks brought to the table not long after ordering. We didn't have to wait long for our food which was served to us hot and looked delicious. It turned out to be just as good as it looked, even our fussy 9 year old enjoyed her mac and cheese! We ordered puddings, again not having to wait too long for these and also tasted great. Staff were friendly and polite the whole time we were there and everything look clean and inviting. Very pleased with our visit.

We’ve never had a bad meal or bad service here. On today’s visit they even managed to raise the bar. We walked in without an appointment and despite being up against it due to being under staffed, the team managed to fit us in, after a very short delay(they initially said it would be an hour wait) we got a table, our order taken, and food served. Outstanding! Even whilst they were struggling with staff they still delivered brilliant service and top grub!
