As regular visitors of Max’s coffee shop, I cannot recommend it enough. The owners, Emma and Adrian, are so welcoming and have transformed the shop into a perfect, local coffee shop which is a great addition to the four oaks area. The coffee is awesome and there are always a wide variety of delicious cakes to choose from! My daughter is a huge fan of the croissants and hot chocolate �
I was excited when I saw that the wine tasting shop was being turned into a coffee shop! I did hope that it would be a "Painting Pottery" coffee shop as we need one of those in the area and it certainly has the space for all the equipment (I would certainly be there to use the kilns everyday!)
The two lovely staff ladies accommodated me and my youngest, they were very friendly. The coffee shop is VERY stylish (kudos to who was in charge of decorating and who did the decorating to very high standard finish). They even have a small children's playroom at the back with some toys. I don't drink coffee, but the hot chocolate with shipped cream IS better than Costa coffee's! ...They also still sell wine which is a bonus!
I think they'd also benefit from having a mother and toddler group morning, as they could definitely accommodate a small regular party of mother and toddlers (preferably on Monday mornings or afternoons)

Welcome addition to Clarence Road. Family owned, and family run ('Max' refers to the owners' young son, as proudly confirmed by his T-shirt). Locally roasted coffee to complement the excellent range of locally baked cakes on offer. Pleased to see plenty of support on the opening day.
Googled some where local to have coffee but went further afield rather than area we live. Saw one on Google so went there, decided against that one and saw max's coffee instead.
Went in, warm welcome. Polite lady took our order told us to take a seat and she'll being order over with the cakes we ordered also.
Friendly, polite and just felt really comfortable.

Max’s is lovely! Great for a catch up with friends, take the kids, or stop in on a dog walk. Such friendly staff and tasty treats. I’ve been here for lunch, shopping events, toddler groups and many pit stops. Never been disappointed.
Found this cafe today after my walk around Hill Hook Nature Reserve. My first but definitely not my last visit. The place is spotless. Food is lovely. Great choices and good prices. To make it a perfect visit, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Well done girls. See you soon.
Great food, staff are Really nice, jane and Becky are an asset to the cafe, the toilets are really clean and tidy, the whole cafe is clean, well worth a visit.
Great local dog friendly cafe. Always a warm welcome for those with 2 legs and four. You get good coffee and you are supporting an independent business. Win win!!

We had two takeaway coffees from here recently. We are not proud of it but we are both coffee snobs and Max’s coffee passed our test. Great tasting strong coffee. Our dog was given a biscuit too which was a nice touch. Love a dog friendly café.
