Dinner. Bistro style restaurant serving the best fresh fish. If you like fish,then this is for you. Homely, unpretentious, and honest, just like the cooking. Fish and shellfish from local boats and markets are simply roasted or grilled. Monday night, and the place was fully booked. Luckily, the boss man Paul managed to squeeze us in at the last minute. As well as the main menu, you can choose from the various special boards up on the walls. Before you choose, they bring a tray to the table to show you the fresh catch of the day. For starters Grilled Garlic Mushrooms - yes, not fish! £6.50 Seared Scallops - off specials board £13.50 Mains - off specials board. Fillet of Cod with Scallops and Prawn tempura £25. Three fish special. £25 3 fish, 3 different ways. All main courses are inclusive of vegetables or salad and a choice of potatoes. Of course, we had to have a portion of the amazing chips. Everything was cooked fresh to order, and service was very good as always.

This was the best seafood restaurant my wife and I have been to, we had a lovely evening meal there on her birthday, lovely atmosphere, the owner showed us the options on a tray filled with a selection of fresh fish. We ate three great courses, a couple of bottles of wine and finished with some port. The service was wonderful, the staff friendly and the food divine. I was particularly impressed with the monkfish I had for my main course, it was cooked to perfection and the flavour was both rich and yet delicate at the same time. Highly recommended.

Booked Number 7 Bistro and Wine Bar to celebrate my wifes' birthday and a thoroughly wonderful meal was had. We arrived slightly early and the restaurant was already full and there was a buzzing atmosphere with a good mix of people including children - it oozed cosiness and had a real family feel. Because we were early, we were invited to utilise the upstairs wine bar which was a lovely relaxed space to wait whilst our table was being prepared. The food was fantastic, starting with oysters, we also had French Onion Soup which was delicious (though they forgot my crouton)! The mixed seafood dish was superb with lots and lots of garlic (with plenty of bread to mop up the sauce - the tempura fish was also very good. For mains, the Gurnard was a first and was exceptional - I'll certainly have that again and the Brixham Lemon Sole was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of Chateau Lestrille - we'll definitely be heading back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. Lunch was a feast of all the seafood and fish we love. I had oysters, a starter with prawn, scallop and mussels, a main of a trio of fish with different sauces. My wife had a goat's cheese starter and a fish and prawn tempura main course. A good introdution to the selection of food on offer. Good desserts and wines. We plan to book for dinner when next in the area.
