Smokey Joes Torquay

Walking in it had that nice feel of an American (Southern especially) diner. The waitress who served me was lovely and always checked up on me which is what you look for in a restaurant. The calamari was very nice and a nice way to start, and I had a Rump which was also lovely. Price was reasonable too for what I ordered. Overall, very nice place to eat I’d happily return.

Can’t share enough how much of a hidden gem this place is. Amazing cocktails, food, rock n roll music and amazing staff. We absolutely have to come to Smokey’s when we come to Torquay. Really sad to hear about ‘runners’ which means they only do pre payment in the summer. Businesses like this add so much character and charm to a place and we should cherish them. I say again… amazing food, best steaks and burgers in Torquay. Outstanding

Great place to eat and visit. Food was hot and delicious. Seasoned chips were very tasty. We tried steak, chicken, ribs, prawns, pulled pork and ribs! Staff were very good, friendly and worked really hard. Would recommend to visit if you like American foo and a diner experience. Some recommendations to improve: A loyalty stamp card to encourage repeat regular customers. Maybe get a discount on 5th/10th visit or free drink. Or birthday incentive. Coleslaw/beans were small portions. If you require more then asking for a free refill could be a good option as well. Tables for 2 are a bit near each other. Would prefer a bit more privacy when dining out.

Food was quite good , my Steak was good , personal thing but don't glaze everything, Steak is great with Colmans or Di Jon Mustard , those little packet mustards are very poor and don't cut the Mustard ! Staff were very friendly, my Daughter thought her piri piri Chicken wasn't very Piri piri, and to ask for something to break the blandness , the Decor is very good , just a little more love and could be 5 star

Best American food in Torquay had a meal here on our final night of holiday and I don't regret. I would have gone here again food was spot on and drinks. Friendly staff and if you like big portions say no more, happy staff and American food I recommend highly over Jack's. Also has lovely bit of rock and roll playing :)
