Picked the Sun Inn as somewhere to meet family not knowing the venue and was pleasantly surprised. This lively pub is open plan with live sports on several tv screens and to be honest we were a bit sceptical that it was the right choice when we walked in. However there is a separate dining room which means you can enjoy a peaceful lunch away from the sport. Four local ales were available plus a good choice of other beers. Between us we had pizza, burgers a pie and parmo (which I'd not seen outside of Middlesbrough before). Clean plates all round and excellent value. Staff are lovely too.

Great location in the heart of Ulverston which is a pretty little town in the South Lakes well worth a visit.
They warned about noise but it didn’t bother me on the top floor - although this would be a climb for the elderly or infirm. The room was small but clean. You did need to run the shower a long time for the hot water to reach it, (which a sign warned about).
Staff were friendly and I was pleased with my visit.

We stopped here for sunday roast and it did not disappoint, we had 4 roasts and 2 kids meals and all we're really nice quality food. The bar serves a wide range of ales lager and ciders and all was very reasonably priced will definitely return when we are here again.

The service we received was amazing, warm and welcoming and willing to accommodate all our needs. Beth was so friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. Sunday lunch was excellent!

It's still the slightly grubby middle of town pub it has been for many years! Dogs loved it! Brought back many fun memories of 6th form afternoons whilst catching up with friends! Not easy to access from the car park for those with mobility issues.... use main entrance!

Great stay in this lovely pub. My room was very clean and comfortable. (Shower was great too). The staff and manager were excellent. My meal on Saturday night was great. I was pleased that when I checked in that they mentioned the bar was open till 2.30am, however it wasn’t too noisy at all. Highly recommend a visit & stay. Ulverston is a beautiful little town.
