Perfect little pub with a lovely beer garden. Ideal after a day's walking, and very close to local campsites. Great beers, great pub food - EXCELLENT pie. Absolute must if you're in the area. Dog-friendly place too (and they have their own dog, Bob).

I had a steak pie which was absolutely delicious. There was a warm and friendly atmosphere in the pub, with some impromptu karaoke going on!

Great pub in a sweet village. They have music sessions but we were too early on our visit. Quirky toilets, a friendly pub dog, and decent Guinness!

Just got back from a week staying in Satterthwaite and went to the pub most nights for a drink. Our dog Pero embarrassed himself but Bob the pub dog had a lot of fun with him. It was lovely to have a pub 2 minutes walk away and especially one that felt cozy. One note... They could make a fortune if they got some more quality scotch behind the bar, a lagavulin 16, Oban 14 or a Bowmore 15...

Lovely village pub that seems to welcome tourists. Beer was good and wine also hit the mark. Only gripe was the prices were just on the top edge of acceptable £6 for medium wine. Food was good homemade fare tasty and fresh, but again £17 for a burger is quite steep. But I'll still rate the place as 5 stars.

Great little spot close to Grizedale! Good local beers and although we didn’t eat, the tables around us food looked epic and lots of positive feedback was heard. Will be back next time I’m there

Just had a lovely meal in the Eagle's Head as they had just opened at 5pm. The service was good friendly, everything explained. A meal order was placed at 5:20 and served at 5:50. We both had pies which were well stuffed with various fillings, served with crispy chips (not over done) and 2veg. The overall atmosphere is good with a mix of customers. A thoroughly good early evening meal and well recommended.
