Lovely local pub, nice inside and friendly staff. On the road but with a small car park. Small beer garden also. Food was nice, but room for improvement. Not really worth £18 per main and £10 per child in my opinion. The pub dog is very friendly and likes to roam free. Great if you love dogs but not so much if you don’t.
Delicious pizza and lovely atmosphere - the perfect ending to a long hike in Grizedale Forest! Very grateful the chef rustled up some food after the kitchen had closed for us, I will definitely come back (but a little earlier next time!)

We stopped over at this pub after a long walk, and it was a treat. The pub has a very homely atmosphere, nice people around, and the food (I was sceptical at first) was very nice indeed. Had a curry over there with couple of beers and I couldn't be happier. The beer selection is also good if you are in the area, drop by.
Visited after a walk in Grizedale and we all left underwhelmed. The prices of the food seem high given the quality. We had the Sunday roasts which only had 2 roast potatoes. There was nothing to complain about, it was convenient but I'm not sure it meets typical standards for round here.

Everyone was made to feel really welcome, cozy atmosphere & home made food, you don't want to leave! Will be regular visitors.
