Delicious and creative dishes, including interesting Vegetarian options. Wonderful friendly service added to the occasion. Would recommend table lighting, as room lighting slightly harsh, rugs on the floor would help with the ambience as well as the acoustics, and art on the walls as well, maybe from local artists on the IOW. Update the tables and chairs to something more contemporary, upholstered chairs. Make more of a feature of the fireplace, flamboyant and floral or evergreen ? These suggestions would 'elevate' the room to the level of the food, which i repeat was outstanding!
The champagne high-tea was an absolutely lovely experience for my auntie and I, from beginning to end. From the minute we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a window table with a beautiful ocean view. The table was pre-set with crisp white linens and elegant decoration and plate ware. Our server was amazing... very charismatic, friendly, and attentive. We were presented with Prosecco upon arrival, which was was divinely delicious. Shortly after, followed the English tea and a finessed array of crustless finger sandwiches, scones with the most delicious clotted cream and strawberry jam, and an assortment of delicate desserts. Everything was superbly eloquent. Highly recommended.
Top rated food. Rather an underwhelming interior in the restaurant and the lounge area, it could do with an interior designer coming in. The waiter helped to make it a memorable evening. It was expensive but worth it.
An excellent place for eating. The set lunch is amazing value for extremely good food. The service is excellent, and the location is great overlooking the sea. Highly recommended.
Matthew Tomkinson at the Hambrough reminds us all what 'fine dining' should mean, yet so rarely does, alas; for his cooking contains the rarest of all ingredients - intelligence! I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a culinary evening more, either in London or indeed Paris. Everything worked, both individually and as an ensemble. Chapeau.
Ambiance, experience and hospitality where all superb - we were made to feel very special to be honest. Food in totality was exceptional - a lunch menu to be very proud of. Wines were delicious and whilst our first choice was not available an alternative of better quality was made available at a very acceptable price. All food was so well prepared and presented - none of us (a party of 8 and a retired chef amongst us) thoroughkly enjoyed the entire experience - thank you thank you thank you
The duck parfait was a meaty cloud of joy. The lamb beautifully cooked but a little confusing. The beef was like eating delicious velvet. The cod was under seasoned but the fig vodka was spectacular. They gave us an orange.
Went there for a wedding breakfast ( evening meal). Highly recommend it. Amazing food, and great service. Couldn't of been more helpful .
The most incredible fine dining experience. Each and every element of the meal was perfection. Everything from the sourdough and salted butter was made in house. I opted for the halibut for main and it was cooked perfectly. I’d also like to mention Gio who is F&B manager, he is the most wonderful host. If you are visiting the Isle Of Wight this restaurant is an absolute must visit and it is essential that you book in advance to ensure you are not disappointed particularly over the summer months.
Superb, 7 course tasting menu, we enjoyed every dish. Table in the window with a beautiful view. Good atmosphere, helpful friendly staff.
