The Boathouse Newmillerdam

Came here after walking around the dam which was lovely. Had cheese and ham toastie which was really tasty and a cup of tea.. was going to give 4 stars because we got a nice big pot but it was only half full. I am assuming it was one pot in a two pot size. Anyway its five stars because everything was brilliant

It's a great cafe in a gorgeous location. It's right on the waters edge and has outside seating also on the waters edge with no fence, I wonder if the servers ever fall in! The views are fabulous. The menu is quite large and includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The prices are reasonable and the food was delicious, especially the chocolate cake 😋. The service was fast and friendly. It is a popular place and there was a small queue, but I only waited around 5 minutes. Definitely worth the wait. There is a car park by the main road but then you have to walk around 5 minutes to the cafe. There is a path right round the lake which is around 2 miles, so great for a walk with the dogs, then a coffee and a snack, the cafe is pet friendly.

Gorgeous little spot at Newmillerdam. Went for breakfast, had toast and a smoothie and was absolutely gorgeous. Great selection of coffees and drinks too. The kind of place you could spend most of the day. Lucky enough to get a table on the terrace overlooking Newmillerdam. Had my little girl with me too and she was well looked after. All the staff were lovely and accommodating. If I had to be super picky there isn't really a good space for baby changing (more something to be mindful of than a criticism). Will definitely be going back over the summer. I didn't have a cake this time but they looked incredible too!

Had breakfast/brunch/lunch here a few times. The kids lunches are great and good value (and I like that they bring them straight away so the kids can start eating without waiting for everyone else food). The staff are always really friendly and genuine. The place is always clean and service is reasonably fast to say how busy they always are. One thing we wish is that they did a bacon sandwich!

Lovely stop off for lunch here today! The interior has been beautifully put together. It’s dog friendly with plenty of space between each table for our pooch to sit. Plenty of choice for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Lovely coffee and good lunch. Very reasonably priced. There is a toilet which is accessed via a code. Will be back again on our next dog walk.
