Very welcoming, food is filling. Wow, never could I find better bathrooms than this restaurants bathrooms. Ramune is good. Also, whilst walking to the bathrooms, there is a lovely view of chefs cooking.

Could not praise this place any more. The food was top notch and the service was sublime. Still can’t get over how good Kumamoto tonkotsu was. So cool how it used to be a pie and mash shop as well. Love it! Can’t wait to come back

I spent an evening here on a Friday night dinner date with my partner. It's a unique Japanese restaurant that maintains the atmosphere and decor of the old traditional London pie and mash shop that it once was. The bento boxes were good value, tasty and made with quality ingredients. The takoyaki (octopus balls) were a particular highlight for me. The sake we had was really good too, although a bottle each meant we left a little bit squiffy.

Excellent food, great service, and a wonderfully renovated historic location. Their ramen is absolutely fantastic and the sushi really high quality. My only complaint with this place was they didn't have spicy ramen, well now they do and it's delicious. Also good value, they give you all the trimmings you want (unlike several other chains where you only get half an egg for example or need to add ingredients) and their most expensive ramen is a very reasonable £14, and it's far superior to others. This is a tip top place, super highly recommended!

The restaurant is housed within a listed building that was previously home to a well loved and iconic pie and mash shop. The interior has been restored to its former glory - beautiful green tiles, granite counter, seating booths, and white walls with embossed ceiling tiles. I always get the chicken karaage, which is crispy and well seasoned and the chicken Katsu with rice doesn’t disappoint. I’m yet to try the sushi, but will my next visit.

First time eating in with families, normally I order delivery. I highly recommend this place eating in, lovely food and customer service. It's a shame the table is too small for 6 people and the amounts of food we order 20 dishes. Would be nice to have a loyalty discount and a discount for ordering £100-£200 worth of food. I would come back to this restaurant. Hopefully further future they will do larger tablets for families of 10+ and party bookings with loyalty discounts.

First time trying this place and had a really good experience. There's a lot of variety to choose from so for some it may be a question of choosing carefully. My next visit I'll definitely try the bento box's to get a wider experience of the menu. The service was some of the friendliest I've had in a long time. It's a great addition to the area, I really hope they do well.

My family and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 19:30 without making a booking and were sat right away. If you look at what we ordered, we had a feast and had such a great time. We were greeted by Andy who heads this place and was beyond helpful, kind and provided great customer service. The staff were so kind as well, saying hello and smily. We ordered edamame, chicken katsu curry, spicy tuna hand roll, chicken teri don, miso soup, prawn tempura roll, matcha cocktail, hot sake and mochi to close the night. Everything was so delicious, and would definitely come back. Quality you can depend on.

Food was amazing. The Beef Teriyaki was excellent. Very High Quality Food, Freshly made. Staff were very polite and helpful. The atmosphere was amazing especially because of the traditional Japanese layout. Toilets were very clean and modern Overall I would 100% recommend 11/10. There are also very good vegetarian options aswell.

Outstanding Japanese restaurant with a large variety of meals to pick from. I came with friends, and the food came out on time even though we ordered different things on the menu to share. The food was very delicious; from the soup to the wide range of sushi, the sauces on the beef and chicken, the drinks (sakes and Japanese beer), and desserts. I will recommend it anytime for a true Japanese treat.
