Wellington is full of hipster/local gems and The Dolphin is definitely one of them. Really really cool, dog-friendly, pub with its own unique character. It feels independent, I don't know if it is. The bar team are a little slow but who cares when they're so lovely. Setting up a tab is easy and they don't seem to ever mind. Food: Pizzas are excellent - they won an award I noticed! With plenty of Vegi and Vegan options. Drink: Wide choice of spirits and they use those air pump wine cork things so never had a bad glass. Atmosphere: Plenty of options for seating suitable for big groups and couples, a selection of games, a fire in winter and garden in the summer, with a pool table and dart board too! If I lived closer i'd go here all the time.

Great drinker, a genuine free house with a good selection of beers and ciders, friendly service coupled with a welcoming atmosphere. The pizzas are very, very good indeed. Although I am a confirmed meat-eater I can also recommend the veggie burger. Dog and child-friendly. Very definitely worth visiting (and re-visiting).

Lovely staff, v warm welcome, absolutely superb vegan pizzas, really Really taste the veg so well worth the slight wait (traditional pizza oven so does 3 at a time) - Please don't swamp them but do drop in if you are passing and want to support a small local business! I have never posted re a restaurant or similar before but was SO impressed by this evening- do try!

Absolutely DELICIOUS pizza! I could have eaten this all day. Perfectly crispy thin base, lots of toppings, fun and varied menu, what more could you want! Great atmosphere in the pub too, nice and relaxed with lots of personality. We'll definitely be back!

Great pub, very dog friendly. Got best seats in house, right in front of fire. Fantastic service and so people friendly too. Chicken burgers were delicious. Would definitely visit again.

Very nice & friendly pub. They claim the best pizzas around & I think they are probably right, vety tasty. Plenty of games available. Large garden with small play area. Not 5 stars only because some could say some areas of pub & garden slightly tired looking.

Don't be out off by the exterior (dolphin murals) which makes it look a bit tacky. It is a nice simple traditional pub used by locals and with good friendly service, regular bands, a corner with two sofas, games and books as well as some children's toys. It serves food which I haven't tried but the cake on the bar looked great.

We found The Dolphin in Wellington while searching for vegan-friendly places to eat around Bridgwater and Taunton, and what a gem it turned out to be tucked away in a residential area away from the main High Street. The food was delicious, the beer and cider selection were excellent, and the general feel of the pub was really nice. My wife loved the beetroot burger and I had the veggie sausage with mustard mash. Well worth the drive down from where we were staying this weekend and wish we had a pub like this closer to home.
