We have driven by Bitter End many times and it always looked busy so we decided to stop in and try it out. We were not disappointed. They had inside and outside seating(with heaters). The staff was pleasant and helpful. The wait was short, about 15 mins on a Sat night. We ordered a burger with fries and halibut dinner. Both were well prepared, with good portions and tasty.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. My husband and I both had the pulled pig( a pulled pork sandwich). It looked wonderful. Mine was so hot that I burned my lip and chin. There was steam coming off of it. I assume it was microwaved I couldn't eat it and still had to pay for it.

My husband and I have always enjoyed the Bitter End. The outdoor seating is always nice. We have also enjoyed their fish stew. Today my husband's fish stew was not as usual. It had very little fish, the broth was flavorless compared to usual. As he finished the meal there was black sand from the clams in the bottom of the dish. He never saw this before. When telling the waiter there wasn't much reaction. The music was obnoxiously loud. We're not in a hurry to go back, to what once was a favorite.

Great place. Outdoor and indoor seating. With firepit, rustic outdoor barn-like bar, funky nostalgic decor, cool lighting and usually music on Fri. & Sat. nights. Service is usually on point. Drinks and food were tasty. This is our 8th time here, so that alone says something. Overall a very good experience. UPDATE: Added pictures from subsequent visits.

Food was good. It did get a little pricey but it was good for the price. Service has a bit of an issue. My wife had a great time till a sever from the bar congratulated us on our new baby on the way.... my wife isn't pregnant.....

As local residents my wife and I have been to the Bitter End several times as we try our best to "shop locally" and be able to provide educated opinions regarding where to go and do to visiting friends and tourists we bump into. While the Bitter End displays $$ that may be for one person, as we have never spent less than $$$ as a couple, including tip, and a few times we have still left hungry. The apps, food, beer and wine are standard fare and though we have always been served excellent food, the same or better food with larger portions at a cheaper price can be found most anywhere locally. The beer list is limited and expensive, as is the wine, the service has always been top notch, and the staff always attentive and pleasant. Seating is limited and somewhat tight inside, so we would not recommend the Bitter End as a family style eatery, as it is best suited for 2-4 people, in our opinion. A BIG Bitter End beny is that it is a reasonably quiet place (though we have encountered some rude, loud types) without the blaring tv's and loud crowds you might encounter at other local establishments, especially May -- September. In our opinion, best for a couple looking for a quiet time out away from the maddening crowd, but anticipate $$$. Hope this helps and enjoy your stay!
