Found just off of the main road. The driveway is quite small, but there is a small sign.
Parking is limited especially when it's busy.
This is basically a small shop and a cafe.
Not many bottles in sight !!!
The shop has homeware and some gifts, although highly priced.
The cafe itself is very nice, with a wide variety of food.
Service was very fast and efficient.
There's a tranquility garden outside that's really pretty with running water.
You can sit oustde and eat there if preferred. ( quietly )
No dogs allowed.
A great place for breakfast, lunch, or just a cake!!
Called in today and had a jacket potato one topped with vegan chilli and one topped with avocado and chilli jam. Best jacket potato we've ever had, the chilli was amazing, the avocado and chilli jam, just superb, massive jacket potatoes and a lovely tasty side salad. Excellent cappuccino with oatmilk and tea the same. To finish off we shared a slice of vegan lemon drizzle cake, and it was outstanding, just so moist and zingy, beautiful.
After dinner we had a walk around the Tranquil garden, wow, just such an amazing space, really special.
Then we had a look around the gift shops, lots to look at clothes, jewelry, books, gifts etc...
We are already planning to go back for a vegan breakfast, hopefully in the Tranquil garden. But the overall ambience of the Bottle Kiln is that it feels very safe.
All of the staff are excellent and are a credit to the Bottle Kiln. But just brilliant thank you 💯😀
First time visiting today. Me and my partner had x2 large breakfast and x2 lattes. It came to approx £30. We feel this was good value for money. The eggs were to die for!!!!
We also went in to the shop they have on site and bought a lovely handbag and a little quirky gift for my mum. This came to approx £28 which we also thought was good value for money.
The staff in the eating area were slightly less enthusiastic than in the shop but still polite and friendly. We felt welcome and will return.
Our first time of visiting the Bottle Kiln and we had a lovely time, enjoying a coffee and then browsing in the shop. The displays are very well arranged with much to tempt you. Nicky was extremely helpful in explaining their gift wrapping service and late night opening in preparation for Christmas. I found the gifts, accessories etc to be of very good quality and reasonably priced. The Christmas decorations were a bit more classy than depending upon moving parts and lights to make them appealing! I know this sounds as though someone connected with the shop has written the review, but I'm really an ordinary punter who enjoyed the experience!
Really nice food, drinks and hospitality. My wife and I sat in the tranquil garden, which is beautifully set out with lots of plants around a centered fountain.
I had the ham, chorizo and spring onion quiche which was delicious and came with a green salad, cous cous and potato salad.
They also serve jugs of drinks, we enjoyed the Pimm's and Lemonade.
"It's a lovely peaceful little stop on your travels" - My wife
Lots of beautiful 😍 gifts to purchase in the shops there and lovely tea 🍵 rooms. Wonderful sitting out in the Japanese gardens, enjoying the tranquility over coffe, tea and scones.
Lovely place. Blink when driving past and you'll miss it. Food was great, really enjoy eating somewhere where quality is the watchword. Started to snow just to finish things off. Stuff in the shop is a bit pricey but that's because it's good quality.
I've been lunching with family and friends at The Bottle Kiln for a couple of decades. It's a great mix of quality giftware and a good resaurant. I recently ordered a fritatta, which was beautifully prepared. Entrees and coffee are consistently good (I never have room for dessert). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend The Bottle Kiln.
Researching places in the area, this came up a lot.
On Saturdays they are trying new events in the evenings. On our visit , from 4-7 they were serving platters and pizzas with 2 for £10 cocktails.
Food portions were enormous which is recommend they cut down, or share food for sure! But the food was lovely and very good value for money.
On this site there are also a couple of shops selling things from homewares to jewellery.
The tranquil garden was unexpected and beautiful, with detail down to the raked stones.
First time visit to this coffee venue.
It's well set out, extremely popular, and the snacks look amazing (although resisted trying one!).
Coffee tasted great and was presented well. Would have liked a choice of cup sizes however.
They also have shops for you to browse around (including a card section). Shop appears pricey, but can see why it's a popular choice for many people overall.
