We had a lunch today which was pure excellence, I am a vegetarian and the chef cooked me an amazing lunch, service was attentive too, by far the best meal out for a long while, and we shall be returning very soon as the lemon posset comes highly recommended ....
We called in with the family as we was stopping next door to the pub . Good atmosphere the pub was quite full but the staff was very good beer good tables cleared as soon as people have finished if we are that way again will call again and have food next time looked very good

The menu was first class and delicious! The service was very good checking that we were all happy - one of my family uses a wheelchair and the team made sure we were all seated comfortably without any fuss; the team also gave us time to enjoy the food - we were certainly enjoying the food! 😊 - whilst ensuring we were not left waiting.

Visited The Lion very last minute and what a fabulous find! Lovely welcoming staff, beautiful room and topped of with an incredible meal! We also have a large dog who was made to feel just as welcome in this truly dog friendly place.
If you are passing stop for food…if you can stay! You won’t be disappointed
Just had a brilliant one night stay here to celebrate our anniversary.
Tom was very welcoming and informative as he showed us to our room. The room and en suite were just beautiful with the most amazing huge bed.
We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was just superb and we are quite fussy about food.
Breakfast was lovely with good quality food and coffee.
There is nothing they could have done better and the staff were working so hard and efficiently.
So well done to you all and keep doing what you are doing!

Had a superb Sunday roast meal here. Generous helping of meat and eight or nine different vegetables plus of course a yorkshire pudding. Everything tasted great and all six of us were well and truly sated by the end. Service was quick and friendly and overall ambience was warm and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We received a warm welcome on arrival, even though it was late, with offers to help with luggage. A beautiful ensuite room with an enormous bed. Great nights sleep
A lovely choice of food for breakfast which was locally sourced.
The only downside was there were no shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries on.
Otherwise highly recommended.
Very good gastro pub. Not cheap but not extortionate. Food was good, good selection of ales and friendly staff. Parking can be an issue
I would stay here again, top notch service and food, location is a bit out of the town but didn't affect us. I liked the fact that the food was locally sourced and recycling and eco friendly is a great theme.
Rooms were super clean and welcoming, would be better if beds had mattress topper and extra pillows etc
