Ate here for a large family meal. Staff were incredibly friendly, going out of the way to make the children (and dog) feel very welcome and kept them entertained. Food and drink were fantastic, and the pub itself is lovely inside. Would 100% eat here again.

Think I've been to the stiddy more times in the last 12 months than my locals combined. (i recommend the chocolate melt pudding with custard) Darts, beer, food and quiz night....... A true pub for a family meal

If you want to find somewhere nice in or near Whitby for Sunday Roast this is the place, the food was unreal! The staff were very attentive and pleasant, they even made a special doggy roast for our collie Jake.

Great place for a drink, and the food is spot on. Made very welcome by the staff, service is excellent and the Italian Chicken was fantastic! Sometimes it may be prudent to book a table on an evening. Pet, Friendly, which in my case makes the pub even better!

Called in on a Sunday in late February for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent, really enjoyable served with a home made relish made to an old family recipe which was delicious. Horseradish sauces also appeared to be home made. Limited range of real ale but what was available was well kept and very drinkable. Prices for food and drink very good value. Service was very friendly and efficient. Do check opening times as they are limited during enclosed season. Pub is located a little outside Whitby but well worth the trip out.

What a great find! Proper home cooked food which was absolutely delicious. Rare to get so many veggie and vegan options, and we thoroughly enjoyed our vegan wellingtons. Also dog friendly (our pooch was made to feel very welcome). Jane and Ellie were fantastic hosts. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We were on our way back to our holiday cottage and decided to stop fir Sunday lunch. So glad we did. We both had roast pork and it was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and helpful explaining what the sauce that we had never seen before. It was made from lettuce, onion, vinegar and something else I can’t remember. It was fantastic, the chef’s grandmother’s recipe. We would highly recommend stopping if you are passing.

Delicious food - no issues for a coeliac- great understanding. The staff are very friendly too. I was even able to have gluten free beer on tap and they hand fed my dog his water (pampered pooch)! 🤣 My daughter enjoyed a gluten free pizza and the non gluten people had delicious sausages and burgers.

This was a fabulous pub who fell over themselves to help. I had my dog with me, and I also have very special dietary needs (keto) and they couldn't have been more helpful. They are the ultimate in dog friendly pubs, very friendly and happy staff, and happy to adapt the menu to meet my needs. Highly recommended.

Just been for lunch. We're staying down at the campsite and I really can't say enough nice things about both. Huge portions of wonderful food, well kept beer and a great view of the North Yorkshire coast. I'm sure when the world opens and you can drink inside it'll be a great winter pub as well as a great spring pub. With Sandsend being a 20 minute walk away (down a giant hill) it's a great way to spend a day
