We were lucky to get a reservation at this amazing place. Then on arrival, we was greeted by Becky, whom was possibly the friendliest and most helpful person I have ever met, together with Tony. Landlord and our chef for the night. The service, the rooms are absolutely amazing, I was so happy and nothing could of topped this, but then we ordered our evening meals. Nothing I have had, anywhere else, can top this. The food and service is absolutely amazing, it was a delightful to come here and 100% I WILL be returning. If you haven’t visited before, I suggest you try it for yourself!!! I never write reviews, but felt I had to praise the quality and service, in which we received here. Thank you for your hospitality and the meals were fantastic x

We stayed for one night with our dog in the room below the restaurant. We were traveling from Scotland to Norfolk and broke the journey down at the halfway point. The location was excellent for dog walking and the accommodation worked well with access to outside. The food was great and large well cooked local food served with a smile and plenty of humour. The owner and staff (Becky) looked after our every need and our German friends that stayed with us commented that it was the best food they’d eaten in the UK. Great traditional pub, good beer, food, pool table and darts. What more could we ask for!

What’s terrific pub this is. We had dinner and drinks here. Food was great, reasonably priced. Desserts are big! Friendly service, decent beers.

Having read several reviews we decided to give it a try and wasn't disappointed, excellent home cooked roast, we had Lamb, plenty of vegetables and lots of gravy and proper Yorkshire puds. Very homely

A small quirky pub that seems to be in transition. Furniture has been renewed and freshly painted. Food was freshly cooked and full of flavour and the service was very warm and friendly. Good value for money.

Stayed in a cottage near here and needed some food but were too tired to go out. We rang the pub and they made us some food for us to collect and take away. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We popped back the next evening to return the salt and pepper they had let us borrow. The staff could not have been friendlier and the atmosphere in the pub was very warm and welcoming. I would recommend that if you are passing you should take time to pop in, you won't be disappointed.

Only stayed one night. Was there for Sunday evening and Monday morning for a 2 day trip to Whitby. What a great place. We travelled with our 10, 11 and 17 year old kids. Arrived to a pre-booked Sunday dinner that was amazing. The gravy was awesome, good portion of meat, 2 grapefruit sized Yorkshire's and really good roast spuds. The owners were amazing. Made us feel very welcome. Really chatty, really good with the kids. Nothing was too much trouble. Really nice atmosphere. Spent the whole Sunday evening playing cards at our table, playing pool and talking with the really friendly locals. Went to bed, rooms were good, nothing amazing but very clean, very comfy beds. Decent sized bathrooms. Loads of plugs to charge everything we needed. Breakfast the following morning was just as good as the Sunday dinner. A great find in a lovely old and quiet village. Will definately go again. Anyone thinking of staying here can book with complete confidence that you will be well looked after.

Friendly staff. We went on a lunchtime, so limited menu. Sandwiches available only, but they were plentiful, served with salad and crisps.
