Fantastic food and staff, excellent venue great inside highly recommend
Stopped for a coffee and cold drink whilst wandering around the city. Delightful spot in the sunshine and could have easily spent all afternoon. Very engaging staff.
Currently staying here for our wedding weekend. We had a rather large booking for food last night before the big day. The food and service was amazing! We’d been given our own room which was great for everyone to be able to talk to each other and hear all conversations away from other tables in the restaurant. Can’t thank the staff enough for how the night went. They checked on us between courses to ensure the night was going well. I’m sure they would have been very accommodating had a problem occurred but everything was perfect!
Just to add the rooms are incredible. Extremely clean, little extras in the room are a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we have another event or just want a weekend away. Thank you all again.
What a fantastic place! We really loved our time here and decided to come back next year. Very charming. Great room, great location, very friendly staff, lots of space. Breakfast was really tasty too.
Spaceous, characterful rooms in historic setting. Very nice bathroom, comfortable bed. We got the room at the top, which wasn't ideal. Got pretty hot but a air con unit had been provided. Breakfast good. Bar was busy Saturday night.
Pitifully slow and inattentive service. Never saw our waitress again after being served, so no chance to request the forgotten napkins, additional coffee, etc. and then another fifteen minutes to get our bill. It’s a shame, as the environs are lovely and the food was quite good.
**Second time's the charm. My wife and I had visitors from abroad staying nearby, so we decided to have dinner at The Old Vine and are happy to report that this meal experience could not have been more different from the last. The food was outstanding all around - roast duck, sea bass and the pie of the day - but it was the service that impressed us most, as our server was warm, attentive and a delight to speak with. As always, it's best to give places a second chance and we're certainly glad we did.
Great food just between the Cathedral and the High Street. We had a lovely meal with plenty of time to enjoy and catch up,
Wonderful, cozy rooms with very soft beds. They have a very lively bar offering a wide assortment of hard and soft drinks. They also offer delicious coffee and very top-notch tea for non-drinkers.
Their restaurant offers amazingly delicious steak, very good salmon, and several other dishes as well. Their warm goat cheese, fig and walnut salad is very delicious. The decor is made of very warm, chocolate brown wood, and the staff had become friends of mine the longer I lived in this little town.
You could not ask for a better experience.
A delightful old fashioned pub in the centre of Winchester, close to the cathedral. I met family and had a tasty lunch of fish finger sandwiches and real ale. As the weather was fine we were able to sit outside.
The pub only takes payment by card (no cash)
Our room was huge and very nice. Obviously the building is very old but that's part of the experience, we quite liked it! The bar downstairs is very convenient and has a nice atmosphere as well. Good breakfast. I recommend!
we've been here for lunch during our city break and it was very nice. the staff is very polite and helpful and the food is delicious ))
What a great pub . Staff was very friendly . Good beer and food what more could you ask for 😁
