The food was absolutely fantastic, all cooked to perfection by ourselves. You cook your own steak on a block of lava stone. The meal deal of £20 each including a full bottle of wine was brilliant. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Booking is a must as they get very busy. 10 out of 10 and highly recommended

Ate twice here in one week as it was so good. Steaks are locally sourced and the best we have ever had in quite a number of steak houses; juicy, flavoursome and tender with the option to cook them just how you like. Good size portions of steak are more than enough for a healthy appetite and excellent value for money. The 16oz sirloin was a challenge for a hungry, athletic 20something! The chips are amazing too - chunky cut, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Staff are really lovely and friendly but without being overbearing or pretentious. Thoroughly recommend the Log House. We will definitely be back for our next visit to the Lakes. Thanks for 2 lovely evenings.

This place is lovely!!! Beautiful view of the green grass from inside the restaurant. Price is very reason. The way they prepare the steak is Wsome! Stone top, so you get to cook your steak to your own liking. Not to mention the funny decor inside the gent's restroom. In all seriousness, love definitely recommend it! They even have two steak specials for 40pounds.

Stayed 2 nights mid week and were looked after well by Andrew, Maria and "Lofty". The building is unique and is nicely decorated ; our room was warm and comfortable, although may benefit from double glazing . We enjoyed the hot lava rock steaks so much we had it again on our second night. Our choice of full English breakfast was really good too.

Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Not a huge selection of food but they use steakstones which are 200 degree lava stones that allow you to cook your steak etc to your exact liking. The steaks are amazing pieces of meat and each of us cooked as we wanted. I had the special which was surf and turf so cooked my own tuna steak too. I've given it five stars because the building is pretty unique and so is the style of eating and cooking so for originality alone and making the effort to be different i salute them

Excellent food, they were a little understaffed but considering this food was out very quickly. The baked Camembert sharer was dear at 12 pounds but the cranberry brioche bun was a nice touch and the other bits that came with it lovely. You really should get a little more here. My only other criticism is that you only get one steak cut serlion or Iron steak, for the steak DEAL. Don't expect a choice and the free wine amounts to 3 medium glasses in total. The steak was excellent that is the main thing. This you cook yourself so don't leave it on too long. It's quite fun doing this of course but be prepared. It means you can crisp the fat so it's actually nice !! And have the steak rare to medium as a good steak should be. Pudding was good, again a little much for what you get but considering the area, no surprise. The gentleman at the front of house asks that you book before and if you get chatting seems friendly. He was polite and greatful for the modest tip we left, despite quite a mess on the table....after cooking a stake on a lava stone for the first time.

Hands down, best dinner I've ever eaten! Amazingly friendly staff, beautiful views and love the hot stone idea for steaks. Comes out seared and allows you too cook your steak to perfection!

We had a lovely meal, we had the “steak night” deal with two 16oz sirloins and a bottle of wine, which was £49.95. It was worth every penny! Not only were the steaks delicious, but the sides (asparagus, mushrooms and tomato) were beautifully cooked. The steaks were served with whole grain mustard, béarnaise sauce and caramelised onions. I ordered an extra side of peppercorn sauce which was very nice. The service was efficient and friendly, and it was clear that the owners are passionate about their establishment and the local area. It was really good to hear the history behind the Log house, and also to get hints and tips about what else to do on our stay here. We will be back!
