The Windmill

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. There is a separate vegan menu available but unfortunately no vegan option on the sunday roast menu. There were 3 vegan mains on the menu - a salad bowl, a curry and a burger. The salad bowl was sold out which the staff member was very apologwtic about. The curry tasted nice although lacked creaminess as it didn't have any coconut milk/cream in the sauce. We had 2 portions on our table and the vegetables served in each portion was wildly different. There were multiple desserts on the vegan menu (yay!) And the crumble was delicious.

Overall a great experience. The food was lovely and the light batter to the fish and chips was a welcomed surprise. The peas were also delightful. The chips were ever so slightly not crispy but still all delicious as a dish. The cider on tap was obviously kept well as was perfect. The only minor (in bold) details would be the slight price to food quality on the other guests dishes and also a few more smiles from the staff. Even though the efficiency and professionalism was there, a little smile could go a long way. I would strongly recommend a visit here and the food is delicious (slightly overpriced). Certainly will visit again!!!!

What a delightful place to celebrate my 30th birthday! 🎂 The team were all very kind, quick and accommodating; the plant-based menu was varied and all the options we 3 vegans went for were delicious, and the place was buzzing even on a Tuesday eve. My family used to come here many decades ago when it was an old pub, and all said it's amazing how much it's changed and improved - in a very tasteful way! Thanks for a lovely eve, folks.
